Burger Bar & Grille Sports Bar — Restaurant in Norwalk

I’m a Culinary Institute of America (CIA) graduate, I studied full time for an associates degree in culinary Arts and hospitality. The CIA is by far the most well regarded Culinary Institute in the United States and even worldwide. With some alumni even being regarded as the best chef and restaurateurs in the country. I say this because I want my words to be recognized as an educated opinion and one that can be trusted. My experience at Burger Bar was subpar, while waiters were genuine and nice, their ability to fulfill our request was lacking. I ordered truffle fries and received regular fries, when I requested my truffle fries they came back with another order of regular fries. It was not until my third request did I get my truffle fries. As if this was not bad enough my burger was overcooked, and not even by a little bit. I ordered medium and got a well done. The food was under seasoned and lacked flavor and to make matters worse, overpriced. There are for sure better and cheaper options just around the corner. I am not one to tell people what they should and should not like or where they should or should not go, but I give my opinion to whomever wants to formulate their own before spending way too much for average food and drinks that took way too long to reach...

We walked in on a Saturday afternoon. The climate wise it was cold raining.. Based on that, there was probably not a lot of foot traffic. We walked in and we were warmly greeted by the bartender, who told us we could sit anywhere we want. The first table we went to alderi. Either from the night before or from the customer.Before us, so we moved on to another table. Once we sat at the next table, we noticed that there was dry guacamole, probably from the day before and salt all over the table. Obviously. No one had done a clean up after the last person sat at that table.Pour the table prior to that one. The bartender was very friendly and came to take our orders for drinks and food. The cocktail that we ordered was mainly ice, not much of a cocktail. When our food came out, it was super salty and nothing spectacular. The burger that I ordered was supposed to have barbecue sauce on it, and it did not have any barbecue sauce on it. The salad that we ordered was not supposed to have any tomatoes, and it came with mostly tomatoes in the salad. All in all his service was OK. There's nothing special about the food or the atmosphere. Would we go back there...

Honestly, I wish I could rate this higher. Location is perfect, curb appeal so exciting, and we’ve been looking forward to it finally opening after driving past it most days…BUT everything was not good. The cocktails are distinctly average, almost as if bought pre-mixed and all served in a bare short glass with no flare to justify the price tag. And while the wait staff was super nice, the food was just bad. The corn tortillas were delicious, but their fillings were either cold or completely flavourless, oftentimes both. For a taco house too, they didn’t have many options on the menu and almost all were beef-based, which could be forgiven if they’d been done well…but they were not. We ordered six different tacos and not one had any soul or real flavour. Sorry, wish I could be...
