Public Wine Bar SoNo — Restaurant in Norwalk

I have been to this establishment a handful of times but tonight was probably the worse experience I've experienced. My partner and I were celebrating our anniversary and decided to check out this place together. We decided to sit at the bar as we wanted some drinks with our dinner. I will definitely never be coming back again and it is all because of this young man bartender who also said was the manager. we sat at the bar for like 5 mins + and he didn't even offer us a menu. We decided to get a table instead because we didn't want to keep waiting any longer. While we were waiting for him to provide us service, he just kept walking in front of us and didn't even pay any attention to us. He wasn't serving other customers and it wasn't crowded at all. So we are still confused as to why he didn't even pay attention to us? He kept going up to other customers that he seemed to know. I'm not sure what his problem is but I'd definitely recommended the owner to reconsider a new bartender / manager if he even really is one.. never again coming back and definitely not recommended it to anybody. Good customer service is equally as important as good...

The food and wine selection at Public is unbeatable. Let me start by saying we went on a Saturday night and they were able to accommodate a party of 10 with only an hours notice. When we arrived we had TWO waiters serving us which was amazing and made our experience much better. The appetizers were great. We essentially tried them all bus the stand outs were the grilled calamari, the spinach artichoke dip, and the arancini. The pasta dishes are so delicious but I have yet to find another place were you can get a steak meal for under 25 dollars besides here and it was perfectly seasoned and cooked. Yes, this place is pricey but it is WELL worth it and has a ton of affordable items on the menu as well. Perfect for a date night or for a night out...

Extremely disappointed in this place! Went on Saturday night and the place was an absolute disaster, not one single staff was wearing a mask, every time they came to my table I had to put back my mask on because they felt it was appropriate to talk on my face with no mask on. When I told the bartender to put his on he just smiled and dismissed me. A large group came in and was sat right next to my table extremely close with no distance at all, to top it off I walked to the restroom as they were mopping the back area with what appeared to be an old disgusting mop that smelled so bad I wanted to vomit. Drinks are overpriced compared to other restaurants in SONO. So I rather take my business somewhere else where my health is not being...
