Overpriced for the underwhelming quality, seeming to rely more on trendiness than basic execution. Add to this a horrible customer experience and I absolutely hated the place.
Three in our party of six ordered the filet mid-rare. One came out rare, one was correctly done mid-rare, and one came out medium. The medium was re-fired and came out an extreme example of pittsburgh rare, with a charred outside wrapping an ice cold center. Not cool, but just-came-from-the-ice-chest cold. Yes, we all know you are in a hurry to fix a mistake, but that is just plain sloppy. For the third re-fire, they threw filet #2 back on the grill. This might work in most situations where a steak is underdone, but not when the outside is already charred. When they dropped it back on the table, the inside was now mid-rare, but the outside was a nice layer of charcoal. Beyond lazy to the point of insulting. When you charge $40 for a 16oz filet, you damn well better know how to cook one consistently.
Our party was there for a birthday and two people ordered dessert. The birthday girl was not one of them. When the desserts came out, they simply took a dessert which WAS NOT HERS and stuck a candle in it, dropped it in front of her and walked away. After singing happy birthday we realized her dessert actually belonged to someone else at the table. Really? There are no words for how pathetic this was. No one was necessarily expecting a free desert for the birthday girl, but giving her another persons desert? Just wow. The wait staff was well aware this happened, but no apology was given.
Had we been an obnoxious table, perhaps we would have deserved this treatment. Had we been jerks about the incorrectly cooked steak I could see the staff just writing us off. But no, we were polite, opting to avoid a fuss due to being there for a birthday celebration. We didn't demand to see the manager and we didn't berate the wait staff. Perhaps we should have, because no attempt was made to rectify the mistakes.
Had the food been heavenly, we would perhaps give this place another try. Unfortunately, the dishes were simply decent with nothing rising to the level one would expect for the price point. The place seems to want to ride on trend alone, without anything substantive to carry it forward. Perhaps an acceptable place to go for a few drinks and some overpriced apps, but there are many better options for quality food at...
Read moreWe came for our 5 year wedding anniversary and let me just say, Jhonny our server was absolutely amazing. He was super attentive and very nice. When our candle at the table went out he took the time to replace the burnt out candle on our table. He refilled our water as quickly as we drank it. Very kind gentleman and if you go please request him! Every time we said thank you he responded 'It's my pleasure ', not many servers will respond like that. He made our anniversary that much more special without even knowing( we didn't say anything about it).
The food was absolutely delicious and brilliantly plated. We ordered the tomahawk steak with a Maine lobster tail, Ceasar salad, grilled watermelon, truffle parmesan fries, and the drinks! Omg the drinks. I had the margarita and my husband, the 99, not only did the drinks pack a punch they far exceeded my expectations on size. You truly get your moneys worth.
Lets start with the steak. It was tender, juicy, and so much flavor! It melted in my mouth upon first bite, I fell in love with Washington Prime right there. The lobster was sweet, tender and very well seasoned. The Caesar salad was delicious but slightly under dressed. My husband got the grilled watermelon, it was flavorful and juicy, well dressed salad, beautiful presentation of the dish. The fries, holy truffle oil, the flavor came through so well. They were perfect.
Dessert was spectacular! The creme brulee was pure bliss. Silky and sweet. I ordered the Chocolate tuxedo, it was divine! Alas by this point I could not eat anymore so I only ate about half but for days to come I will be kicking myself for not finishing it.
All in all I highly recommend coming for dinner and drinks. Our experience was otherworldly and I highly recommend coming for dinner or even just drinks. It is a cozy spot with great food and a wonderful staff. We will definitely be back for any special occasion. I can not reiterate this enough, phenomenal service, phenomenal food, and an overall amazing experience. We can't wait to...
Read moreNot our first time coming, but first time I felt compelled to leave a review. Unfortunately this time, it’s for 5-star food and 2-star service.
All the food was excellent, however was expecting a little more “hot” to our hot honey calamari. My filet was a smidge under medium rare (a bit purple in the middle), and noticeably so compared to the other medium rare filet on the table, probably could’ve used another 15-30 seconds on each side but not to where I needed to send it back. The table next to ours did send a steak back, so seems it was an off night in the kitchen.
The real issue was our waiter. Never in my life have I paid these kind of prices for this kind of food and felt so unattended to. Scratch that, never in my life have I felt so unattended to, period. He was disorganized (we had two drinks on the table with no mention of the third, a glass of wine, until we eventually inquired about it), would frequently rush past us without touching the table as we were straining to get his attention without being rude, was often seen chatting with coworkers for several minutes while holding an item we were waiting on, and he walked past our table 4 times without even a glance in our direction (and we were outside where the walking room is narrow) while empty dessert dishes sat as we tried to signal to get our check.
Clearly totally incapable of any degree of multitasking. Skinny guy with glasses. If the receipt is correct, name is Jhonny. Has no business serving here, or any other sit down restaurant to be frank. Never in my life have I tipped less than 20-25% off the post-tax amount until tonight. Granted, it ended up being 19.3% off the pretax total which others in my party called “very generous” so I didn’t eviscerate the guy, but tonight is one of those nights where my unshakeable sense of moral obligation to tipping culture really conflicts with the level of service actually provided.
Would we still come back? Maybe. But if he was our waiter again, I’d either demand a new one or find a different...
