Casa Adelita — Restaurant in Norwalk

Been an on and off customer for years. But today they lost me for good. I always hesitate if I should go there or not. There food is decent but definitely overpriced for the quality. Tried to get a lunch date with my family. Waitress asked for Covid 19 Vaxcard. I’m not walking around with one in my pocket for all my family. She asked for us to seat outside, In the dirtiest parking lot not even the pigeons would eat on. I just walked away because I didn’t want to be the one to have to educate a waitress that only the City Of Los Angeles is requiring certain businesses for vaccine proof. This is City of Norwalk. I ended up buying my Molcajete somewhere else. The week before I bought a carrot juice. Never in my life have I tasted a SOUR carrot juice until I came here. Stop letting them sit in water so long. I had a taste for Mole but since it was late on a Sunday night in the middle of take-out orders only mandate due to COVID 19 I actually did not have high expectations. I have to admit I was pleasantly surprised the Mole Poblano is really good, the rice and beans were great too not at all dry or bland like many Mexican food places in the area. I’m sure during these tuff times a lot of local small restaurants our cutting corners to make up for revenue losses and in my opinion fresh ingredients seem to be big amongst the cuts but for sure Casa Adelita is not one of them. Very very disappointed. With high hopes as this was my first time ordering from this location, I placed an order for Tacos Al Pastor, rice, and some french fries. Verdict: Tacos Al Pastor did not look like tacos Al pastor they were very sloppy and appeared to be just chorizo with avocado. I asked for salsa and was provided with Tapatio packets.
