So hereās the thing, yes the food can be decent when their cooks put their minds to it. Unfortunately the people in the front that take the order mess their hard work up by messing the orders up and completely sending out what was not ordered. I myself have given this place of business many chances because Iām biased to the fact that they are a Hispanic business and itās a mutual respect but they constantly get my order wrong. It NEVER fails. For example, Iāll ask for an over easy egg wrap and theyāll make the egg super fried and maybe add home fries but when I order a āhangover bagelā in a wrap they constantly forget the home fries. Or like today I ordered a S.E. & Cheese wrap and when my food arrived they sent me a B.E & Cheese on a roll. Itās mostly some of the easiest orders their menus carry and Itās frustrating when it happens more than once. The price of the food DOES NOT match the work ethic and the food being dished out. Please do better Dave and Charlieās. Just stop rushing, focus and put your undivided attention to every order and maybe orders can be fulfilled correctly. And may I add that the attitudes of the people picking the phone up are horrible. Please help them to understand one of the requirements of that job is to be a āpeople personā. Itās really not that hard. Thank you. Hopefully if I give it another shot maybe you have learned from your...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreAs a born-and-bred New Yorker, I donāt throw around BEC praise lightly. This isnāt a drill. This isnāt a test. This is a public service announcement: I found a bacon egg and cheese in Connecticut that made me feel like I just stepped out of a bodega in Queens at 8 a.m., half-awake, half-hungover, and fully alive.
First biteāBOOM. Flashback to yelling āone BEC, salt, pepper, ketchup!ā over the sound of a lotto machine and a guy in Timbs arguing about the Knicks. I had to sit down. Not because there was a table. Just because the flavor hit my soul that hard.
The bacon? Crispy like it went to finishing school but still kept its street cred. The egg? Fluffy, not rubberyālike it actually cared about my feelings. The cheese? Melted to perfection like it wrote a love letter to my arteries.
And the roll? Donāt even get me started. Soft with just the right chew. Like if a Kaiser roll and a cloud had a delicious baby.
The folks behind the counter? Friendly, fast, and no nonsenseājust like home. I half-expected someone to call me ābossā and tell me my MetroCard fell out of my pocket.
If youāre from NY and homesick, come here. If youāve never had a real BEC, cancel your plans and fix your life. This sandwich slapped harder than my aunt when I cursed in front of her.
Best BEC Iāve had in Connecticut. Hands down. No contest. 10/10 would fight someone over...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe food is good thatās why I went back many times, But after today I will never do business with this deli again! Two days in a row they messed up my online order & I had to go in to ask them to fix it. But today for some reason it was a problem!!! They didnāt want to give me the bacon, avocado & cucumber I added to my sandwich saying that it cost extra! Making an extra few dollars payment is not the issue, but instead itās the principle of the situation. The thing is I ordered online & had paid already so i shouldāve received my meal the way I ordered it & they shouldāve made it right, because itās not my fault that their online system as they put it didnāt charge me for each additional item!!! Itās Their fault they should fix it either way! I felt treated very unfairly!!! & maybe itās because Iām a Black man in a white establishment!!! Had I been a white man coming in to get my order corrected Iām sure theyād have made it right. Or maybe if I didnāt come in with gym attire on & had been dressed id have been looked at differently. But itās their loss, itās best to treat everyone equally because you never really know who someone is regardless of race or gender looking to do...
