I ventured out to Sweet Ashleyâs Ice Cream in Norwalk, CT after hearing about their Kitchen Sink sundae challenge! Only defeated by 7 people, this massive sundae starts with 4 scoops each of vanilla, chocolate, and strawberry ice cream, topped with two entire brownies, bananas, a full cup each of strawberry sauce, chocolate sauce, and caramel sauce, HALF A CAN of whipped cream and some lovely cherries on top of course. I had 30 mins to complete it if I wanted a free meal, t shirt, and gift card, or else I would have to pay 40 dollars and leave with disappointing sugar rush.
The owner, Frank, dressed this formidable sundae in saucy goodness to the tune of âGonna Fly Nowâ creating a sun sense of excitement in the entire shop! Hitting the table at almost over 6 and a half pounds and dripping with syrup, I wasted no time in attacking the dairy debauchery. A mere 6 minutes and 23 seconds later, I had shoveled the entirety of the Kitchen Sink sundae and all its tasty components securely into my stomach, SHATTERING the previous 13 minutes record by more than half. Due to my impressive speed, new competitors will now only have 15 minutes to win this challenge đđȘđż (sorry, not sorryâŠ)
I had an absolute blast eating such a delicious sundae. An old couple even cheered me on while I ate! They enjoyed their regular sized ice cream as I set up for my challenge and continued their same cones long after I had wolfed my sundae down đ.
Huge shout out to Frank and his wife for being so accommodating to me, providing me with extra napkins, a PERFECTLY sized spoon, killer music, and of course, outrageously delicious ice cream. I highly recommend you give them your support if youâre in Norwalk and enjoy one (or twelve) of their delicious ice...
