Had family in town and we stopped at Hillgarten for a few afternoon beverages and maybe a small snack. Hillgarten is a small slice of Germany plunked down in the middle of Hilliard. There is a walk-up serving area to order and take your drinks and food back to your table. A reasonable beer listing (all available to be put into a flight if you wish), a decent selection of wines, and a nice menu of food to either nibble (the pretzel is very reminiscent of Oktoberfest) or a meal. Nice that they have rotating beers by season. The layout is a mix of small and large tables, a "stage" area where they may have music going, and some picnic tables. The strung lights look like they will be nice in the evening and one of the employees looked like they were stringing lines for vines to be grown (maybe hops?). Lots of families, couples and groups, there is room for everyone here. For winter, snow gloves to rent, a heated tent, and hot drinks!

This is a great place to hang outside with friends or family. They have a nice selection of drinks and their food is great! If you are really hungry, order the Bavarian pretzel. It’s really big, but great to share with family or friends. They have Oktoberfest starting the weekend right when fall begins. They have tasty fall cocktails and of course octoberfest brews. They have lots of seating and a a fire pit. They also have kid friendly meals. Dogs are welcome and in the winter they have igloo seating. Parking on the street or nearby parking lots. Walking distance between restaurants, little shops, ice cream and coffee.

Just spent the most amazing evening with friends at HillGarten. It is truly a magical outdoor space that serves wonderful casual food, beer, wine and the Bourbon selection was impressive. Their giant pretzel was one of the best that I’ve had. I found the venue to be cozy with fire pits, wonderful outdoor gathering space that is both family and pet friendly. The owners were floating around checking on their guest experiences which is so hard to find these days. I highly recommend it and will make this a regular outing spot.

We visited HillGarten this past weekend with a group of family and friends. Everything from the service, to the environment and especially the food and drink was fantastic!! The location is in downtown Old Hilliard. It was convenient to park on the street and take a leisurely walk to the location. There was plenty of different kinds of seating- picnic tables, fire pit seating, small bistro tables, family size tables and large wooden beer garden style tables. The space had several umbrellas for shade, a stage for live music, a grassy area with corn hole boards and a beautiful covered space to order a good selection of craft and domestic beers in tap, wines, seltzers, ciders and soft drinks. There is a good selection of various sausages, appetizers/sides/desserts and a GIANT pretzel that tasted amazing! We had the Roberta, a sausage that that pays homage to the owners Italian background- so delicious!! I can't say enough about the atmosphere here- from the beautiful planters, the seating built in around the young trees, the lights, the music playing just loud enough to hear but not to overwhelm the conversations we had, the amazing use of peaceful colors of green and beautiful wood accents just lends itself to creating the relaxing vibe. We saw people of all ages come and go throughout the day. Kudos to the owners for creating such an exciting space! Looking forward to visiting again and again in the...

I would return for the atmosphere but will pass on the food. The food was mediocre at best. The German Potato salad was a puddle of overpowering dill and drowning in grease or butter. They have an impressive Bourbon selection but I opted not to have Bourbon in the heat. The Pretzel was huge but 16 dollars for bread and water with a cup of cheese in this economy? The Ellis Island Bratwurst at 13 bucks was a bit outrageous. My wife's hot dog and Pretzel came to 27 dollars before even buying a drink. All in all we dropped 100 dollars including a tip on food and drinks alone. That's quite excessive in this economy for a couple to go out and have a quick bite and a couple of drinks. Let me say, money is not the issue when it comes to dining for us but the pricing didn't match the dining experience. I really wanted to like this place seeing all the reviews however this will not be a go to spot for...
