This place is unique!!! It is a traditional Mexican restaurant. When I say restaurant, I do not mean fast food, Mexican. I mean good, large portioned, delicious, homelike food served here. We have been coming since it opened and since they had another Las Palmas in Evanston since the 80s and this place still provides grade A food and service. We ordered the Carne Asada platter. No restaurant that I have been to in Chicago nor surrounding suburbs have served such a thick and juice Carne Asada. Our agua de horchata was served in a margarita glass which feels nice. Our server Juanita Is super helpful, attentive, and nice! The tortillas here are made fresh in-house. We also ordered a guacamole and queso fundido, which I cannot find anywhere else here. The guacamole was very delicious with a lot of flavor. We also ordered flan, fried plantains with sour cream, and mango cheesecake. All desserts were delicious. If you have never had the plantains with sour cream, the sour cream has sugar and cinnamon in it. The flan was perfect, not too dry not too gelatinous. The cheesecake was a nice slice. You can taste the food is very fresh here in comparison to other Mexican restaurants I have been to this is by far my favorite and will continue to always be my favorite until someone can do something better than this restaurant. I highly doubt it.

The place was empty at 3pm on a Friday only one family besides me and a friend were in this huge establishment....should of took that as a sign...The host tells us to to have a seat anywhere yet the floor was sticky and the table was dirty( she cleaned off the table as well as the filthy salt and pepper shaker)still giving the place the benefit of the doubt,...the margarita comes the horichata comes everything is OK...the queso dip comes it's nasty...taste like American cheese...steak come it's majority fat, chimichanga come the ground beef taste like soap...We told them about the dip n they loudly conversed about it in a angry tone off to the side.So the host comes over and angrily says we don't use American take it home to your family but we can't take it back...that was fine we just wanted it off the table. She said my cooks made it and we're not taking it back...as rude as it was said we were just ready to go.The server was awesome so he did get tipped. The rest stood around having loud convo in Spanish inwhich I speak and understand although black! Guess they didn't know...won't be back!!!

As a born-and-raised, Socal, first-gen, Mexican-American fat guy, trust me when I say, THIS IS MEXICAN FOOD! If that's not enough to convince you to eat here; the staff is amazing. Everyone moves with a purpose! We showed up on Cinco De Mayo and the parking lot was packed. I was expecting a 45 minute wait. We were sat before I could get a drink at their nice little bar. Chips and salsa were at our table when the server first arrived. We put in a drink order and asked if they had any spicier salsa. They brought out what I would describe as mole hot salsa. It was soooooo good, I bought a pint of it to take home. Caution, it's really spicy! All in all, it was an amazing time with a very nice, very fast staff with amazingly good and authentic food that made me want to head straight to the airport and catch the next flight to Puerto Vallarta. Highly recommend.

Went this past Tuesday and had a terrible experience. Service was extremely slow and when our waitress was more concerned with the tables outside, then her one table inside, we had to ask another server for refreshed drinks (and napkins) after they remained empty for about fifteen minutes (we did not have cocktails only pop). We ordered combo fajitas and a combo plate. The fajitas were extremely dry and tasteless. They weren’t seasoned at all. the Guacamole had no taste to it either. A few of the servers were eating in the restaurant while waiting on tables which was strange to me. After another server brought us drinks our server stopped over and brought two more drinks and didn’t ask how our food was or if we needed anything? At this point we wanted to leave so we asked for the check, boxes, and a few more tortillas. There was a man standing in the front at the bar who our server appeared to ask to get us the items we requested. We saw him go in back bring them out and go to a table who was already done eating. We were the only other people actually with food on the table (there were only two tables occupied besides us)and he looked at us and then just walked in the back. We sat for another ten minutes while our waitress was outside or taking phone orders and I was finally able to flag her down and told her we never got boxes, tortillas, or the check. All she said was sorry then we waited while she went and got the check and a box but no tortillas. We left completely unwilling to ever go back and we had been there a few times previously. Very disappointed but we will spend our money at other local businesses who appreciate...

All I have to say in wow! My mom and I came here on our way back from a show in downtown and we were super hungry. We live in the area but never knew this place was here and randomly decided to stop in. This was about a hour and a half before closing so there was only one other person there.

It was exactly what we were looking for, somewhere quiet and relaxing to eat. First of all, our waitress Estefani was absolutely wonderful. She was so sweet and always made sure we had everything that we needed. She even taught us some Spanish and we taught her some Russian! Now the food, absolutely delicious. Alot of restaurants we've been to you either get good food but little portions or big portions but not so great food. Not only was the food delicious but you also get a really good amount. The prices are also super reasonable.

We also stayed until the closing time and we didn't feel at all rushed to leave like alot of other places. About 15 minutes before closing we asked our waitress if it was too late to order some flan for dessert. She said of course and brought us some delicious flan!

Overall just a great, cozy, friendly and relaxing atmosphere and the entire staff was great. Definitely recommend trying this place out and we'll definitely be back!

Huge thank you to the staff for the great visit and happy...
