(edit: 6 months after posting the below review, they continue to over-achieve. This is a solid McDonald's and does not disappoint)
Listen. I've been following this location for over 2 years. Both as a regular customer who orders weekly, and as a delivery driver who picks up multiple times per week.
No joke, there have been struggles the last couple of years. Not gonna lie about that.
But, what led me to actually load up Google Maps, and write an actual review about this specific location, has been my experiences with them the last 6 months.
Everything has reached perfection. The restaurant is always clean and well maintained, 100% of the time. The delivery orders are always ready to be picked up.
And as for my personal orders? I'll share the secret with you. This is how you too, can experience a 100% waitless and trouble-free experience.
Use their mobile app (which literally always has B1G1F deals). Place the order when you're 2-5 minutes away, and choose 'Counter' as the pickup option. Immediately after placing the order, choose the button that say "I'm already here", even if you aren't.
Drive there, park, walk inside, and pickup your order, and leave. My orders have literally, not exaggerating, been accurate 100% of the time. Every single time. And always ready for pickup within 5 minutes of placing order and choosing "I'm already here", even tho I'm not there yet. I also always ask for 'extra onions and extra pickles', and they're always there.
I never wait in the drive-thru (unless it's after 10pm, and even then, my order is still already placed and being made). I simply walk in, grab my food, and leave.
The employees actually know me by name at this point, both in the morning, and in the evening. I don't even have to say anything, despite the fact I only visit maybe twice per week.
And as a delivery driver for all the food apps, they don't know who I am before I enter, but always the bags are ready just right when I arrive, and the customers haven't lodged any complaints that I have seen.
This McDonald's is truly on point, the employees are friendly - but the takeaway here should be to make your order on the app before you get there. Don't show up expecting a cashier to take you order. And don't show up and use the kiosks either. Just take the 30 seconds to install the app, and order before you arrive. It's way cheaper that way too.
(LAST EDIT: If you are doing all of the above, after 10PM, and it let's you still choose Counter, and I'm already here, then just skip the line if possible, and pull up to the window. It will be ready. Same goes for delivery drivers - if you can squeeze in and go straight to window, the doordash/ubereats/etc is ready for you to pickup and deliver. no need to wait in line whatsoever, because there are often 20 cars in line, and it's not moving, but those orders are ready and just...
Read moreThis McDonald's really deserves no stars. I've been coming here constantly for 5 years and I've watched all the staff come and go but all the problems remain the same. The staff is rude, unprofessional, you can tell they hate their jobs. 9/10 your food will be done wrong and if you say anything about it they're very very rude. The seats and booths and tables are always disgusting. There's always teenagers and drug dealers in there and dope fiends ALL THE TIME. at any given time. Early morning, night time, afternoon, me and my boyfriend even went through the drive way this morning and they had us pull up to the front to bring just a happy meal out-that's all we ordered, and there was a man standing at the end of the drive thru to ask for change "for the bus" , if you dont have the exact change out before you order and you take a second or two to reach in your pocket and count the money out they get beyond aggravated. I have anxiety so that's a big no-no. After I got my order I asked for some ketchup and a couple of the staff just looked at me disgusted. Everytime before I go in, i know my order, i have the money ready to pay for it, i have my part prepared so there's no reason for anything to be difficult or any hostility. This is not a hood, this is NORWOOD McDonald's - even the management's ratchet. Somebody needs to come in and completely take over this place. I can't even have a decent lunch with my son here, he'll be in the middle of eating his happy meal and I'll have to watch our backs the whole time from dope fiends ready to steal the coat off my chair or some kid asking if I want to buy weed. On top of actually finding a decently clean place to sit and dealing with attitude...
Read moreMy entire order was incorrect. I discovered it when I got home and returned to the restaurant. I waited behind a vehicle in front of me at the window then when I pulled forward the cashier and expeditor took the food I had ordered then a few moments later the manager Avery walked over and very rudely informed me that he could not remake my food, could not issue a refund and that I would have to return after 6am when the gm arrives to get a refund. As Avery was speaking I began making this complaint online on my phone and during my search for the store location he attempted to hand me my receipt and I asked him to hold on for a moment... It was at this point that Avery began to whip his neck and demean me and question my character by insinuating that I waited an hour to return to the location, which I did not. I lectured Avery on deescalation and the duty of a manager in conflict resolution to which he admitted his fault in escalating the situation with his attitude and lack of resolutions when I pointed out the fact that he hadn't even offered to replace my food with breakfast items. He then called the police on me. I waited for the officers and told them my story. They asked Avery if he could do anything at all to which he said no and I apologized that he called them for no reason. Seven Norwood police officers responded to this incident and I never once used profanity and only raised my voice to match the octave of Avery. I spent almost $20 and I was basically robbed. They have my money and the incorrect food, which Avery mockingly said I need to bring back tomorrow for the refund. Not sure how that can happen when he did not return the food to me but I guess I'll figure...
