Really adorable place with friendly service and a great cup of Rishi tea.
I got the egg sandwich with tomato, arugula, bacon, and cheese. It normally comes with pesto, but I don’t like eggs with pesto, so we held it. The sandwich was good! The bacon was the most perfectly cooked bacon I’ve ever had! It was phenomenal. The egg was cooked exactly the way I like it (medium-ish, and I didn’t even ask).
I wish it had had more cheese. I could see that some had melted between the egg, but it was so tiny it almost wasn’t there. There was no luxurious slice to bite into. Sigh.
Also, having more options for sauces besides pesto would be amazing. Aioli or even just mayo? My favorite is always a ripe avocado. That would have made this divine! And maybe bagels. Options beside brioche would be great, and Norwood has some fantastic bagel suppliers.
Anyway, it was a lovely visit, and the adorable flower centerpieces and a few pretty throw pillows along the window seat added to the ambiance.
I got an hibiscus lime iced tea with a bit of stevia, and it was not too tart and very refreshing.
It was crowded, so I didn’t stay long, but, other then an almost-non-existent step to get in, the place was fully accessible, including a bathroom with a toilet my weak hands could flush (and the handle didn’t kick back, which hurts my hands).
There is also handicapped parking...
Read moreIncredible addition to the neighborhood. It's the best latte within 30 minutes of Sharon, better than many coffee shops in Boston even. Comfortable stylish ambiance. Friendly staff. Online ordering. Tasty and customizable breakfast sandwiches. Various baked goods. There's nothing to not love.
My only feedback is it'd be great if they had a matcha powder that wasn't pre-sweetened. Their matcha latte is too sweet for my taste but I don't dock any stars for that because frankly no suburban cafe has made a matcha up to my standards yet. At the very least their matcha is a vibrant green and not that greyish brownish green served in many...
Read moreHave been so excited for this place to open and they did not disappoint! Side Door Cafe is a charming, much-needed addition to Norwood Center. The atmosphere was modern, everything was scrupulously clean, and the service was attentive and fast. I ordered a caramel latte that was frankly perfect (they even took the time to add artwork on top!) and a couple drinks for friends (men of few words), including an iced coffee that was "Really good" and a vanilla latte that was "Phenomenal!" It was late afternoon, so we did not get food, but the menu sounds delicious and there are gluten free options, so I'll be back to try soon....
