Dr. Insomniac's Fine Coffee, Tea, Smoothies & Cafe — Restaurant in Novato

My complaint is not towards the coffee or food, that’s was a 8/10, my issue was the service I got laughed at on my own face, I am not a big coffee drinker but when I have one, my go to place will always be Starbucks because of the drive thru, very convenient whatsoever I had always wanted to try this place and for the Halloween trick or treating in downtown Novato I walked by there and we decided to get coffee, I don’t know coffees names, but I never thought that someone will laugh in my face for a mistake anybody could made, my mistake was ordering a “Misto” instead of a “Café Au Lait”. They’re both the same thing, different name. The lady that ringed me up for it corrected me and told me the correct name, but when they handed me the drink that others Lady coment was “Medium Misto, Café Au Lait or whatever you called it” turned back and starting laughing with the coworker when I reached the counter to get my drink. I felt so embarrassed but my family was with me, my kids were with me, there was families around, was I gonna make a show in front of everybody and embarrass myself even more, of course not. I left but I still haven’t get over it. My advice, Google the name of your drink before ordering because they do make you feel...

A unique locally owned place to have delicious coffee when in Novato. This is where the locals go on Grant Avenue. On a sunny day, being at Dr. Insomniac’s is delightful! Plenty of space to sit, whether it is out in front, bistro-sidewalk style or on the spacious patio outback. The scones are yummy! I had the peach blueberry. The man ahead of me in line recommended it as he had one. An odd flavor combination at first sight. But oh the taste is delicious. My cafe latte was satisfying with a generous amount of rich frothy whole milk. Get to Dr. Insomniac’s a bit early because it gets busy and the line is out the door. Service is excellent!
