I have never heard of this place so decided to give it a try. It's very Chipotle, pancheros, potbelly like. You can pick a wrap, plate or salad bowl. I did a plate ( expecting an actual plate) but it was a rice bowl. They should state rice bowl and not call it a plate. So then items all dumped into this bowl but many of the items I wanted to try would not mix well together and do it deterred me from trying everything. The items aren't labeled so I wasn't sure what a few of the items were and feel silly asking so I just skipped it. I think the protein should be weighed because I got steak and got half the amount that my friend got with the kebobs ( however i had to pay more). The person I was with got a wrap and added olives but took a bite and the olive had a pit! They should not have pits in olives, without warning, in a sandwich. The kabobs were a little large for the pita and made a mess trying to bite into them to break it apart. They should be half the size for a pita wrap. They advertise 2 soups but when we ordered the Chic pea soup they said they didn't have it. So we had to get the lentil (which was just ok) because the combo is fries, soup or grain and my rice bowl already was pretty much all rice. I got the rice pudding and was very turned off by the packaging. It looks like they went to the store and bought it to sell here. The food was ok but for the price I wasn't impressed. Worth trying once but I don't need to...
Read moreWhat idiot packed my lunch?!? Oh, yeah, that was me. A granola bar and some grapes does not a lunch make (must've gotten distracted half way through) so, I'm eating out today. Noon and I find myself in uncharted territory. Google says there are several places a few miles away. Chopped Olive sounded good. This whole "fast casual" thing is a step in the right direction: quick service without the near-institutional look of fast food places. Better quality food in better surroundings but a bit higher price point. I'm down to try. Kind of reminds me of a brighter old-school deli. Deciphering the process is the hardest part because you need to make many decisions. Bowl - bulgur, rice or salad - or wrap? 1 or 2 "bases" and which ones of nine? Toppings? Eleven options here. Your protein? Seven more options. Toppings? Seven options, choose one or two. One more: make it a combo? Add lentil soup, fries or grain (?) & a fountain drink for $4.50 more. Had a wrap, chicken shawarma and won't bother you with the other details. Got the combo, too. Total price: $17.75. A bit much for lunch but the food was quickly made and quite good. Staff answered all questions quickly & accurately. Would likely skip the combination in the future but the food is worth a try. Gyros, quesadillas & fries as well as several salads and flatbread pizzas are...
Read moreFrom the first time I picked up food at Chopped Olive, I got a feeling it was going to become a place that'd enter my standard list of takeout staples. It's a great combination of easy to understand menu, great ingredients, easy process, and good value that makes for an excellent fast casual restaurant.
The ingredients are familiar, but Chopped Olive does a great job delivering them in a way that's easily accessible and easy to customize, which makes a big difference when catering to picky eaters. Quality and taste of the ingredients is fantastic too!
Mid-pandemic, ease of ordering and pickup for takeout is more important than ever and Chopped Olive does well here -- they allow for online ordering (through the Yelp app too) and they have a designated area for pickup orders so you can pick up in a largely contactless way. Definitely appreciated!
Keto/ Low carb folks: it's easy to build a salad bowl that works for your needs here. I opt for double protein here, but I'd think you could make a solid meal without going for that options as well -- there are tons of add-ons you can add for free.
Overall, I'd say definitely check out Chopped Olive! You'll find a winning combination of quality food and great value, even for the...
