With peace and love, it was disgusting. It’s 7 hours later and I’m still not feeling too well from the experience. The only positive might have been the salsa, but it was truly not a good meal. The tacos had chicken, (allegedly) cheese,(white cheese, nothing bad) and about one pinch of lettuce- if the person pinching the lettuce had a baby hand, I can excuse the tiny amounts of toppings given, but I was eating 95% taco shell which was so god damn depressing. I’ve suspected this place is a front for something for a very long time and the food being this deplorable, like, not even being able to serve a flavorful TACO correctly( the staple of a Mexican restaurant), only serves to satiate my curiosity even further still. I’ve always wondered how this place has been a mainstay in the area for so long. You could probably find a better taco at the Home Depot across the street- not saying they serve tacos, I mean if you found an employee and said “hey I’ll give you five bucks if you give me what’s in your lunchbox.” I am afraid it may taste better. It’s quite a colorful and cute place, I’ll give it that much….but you can’t convince me this place is a hidden gem- and if that’s what the general review consensus is, let’s maybe...
Read moreMy wife and I happened upon this place for an impromptu date - and so glad we did! The meal was tasty and authentic, unlike so many of the "heaping beans and cheese" Mexican chain restaurants. The host and wait staff were young but VERY courteous, informed and attentive to our needs. The prices were reasonable but be aware that you have to pay for any extra chips and salsa beyond the initial complimentary round. When I saw it show up on the bill, the waiter politely explained to me that it was mentioned in the menu, but how many of us truly scour the menu for those smaller details when we are deciding to place our orders? (I suggested to him that he remind people of the additional costs when they ask for a second round - for which most Mexican venues do not charge.) The Modelo dark draft complements almost all Mexican fare very well. Their outdoor decor is well done, but be aware that you are less than 10 feet from the parking lot. (We had to listen for 5 minutes to a couple of guys to decide where they were going to launch their boat the next day, but found it more amusing than distracting.) If you're looking for a more serene ambiance, you may choose to dine indoors. Overall, a wonderful experience -...
Read moreSolid Mexican fare that you would expect in a suburban area. Nothing I've ever had here was bad, but so far nothing has really blown me away, either. The service has been good and the interior is pretty nice and it has a patio (even though it's right next to strip mall parking). As others have stated, it's probably a little on the higher end price-wise for Mexican food, but nothing that would keep me from going there. This strikes me as the kind of place that would be good to meet up with a friend for lunch or take family visiting from out of town who were in the mood for Mexican food. It's not trying to be too trendy or too authentic, so everyone will be able to order and receive something along the lines of what they expect, even if they don't consider it to be the best Mexican food they've ever had. Kind of right up the middle Mexican food. I wouldn't drive out of my way to go here and I don't know how it compares to other Mexican places in the area, but I have no problem stopping in when I'm on the side of...
