First, we placed an order for a Shish Combo For Two with soup, a small humus, and requested fresh bread. We were then asked if we wanted 6 or 12 pieces of bread and responded twelve. After we asked for the price of the meal, we were hung up on. My father went to pick up the order and asked why he was charged for the bread, as a customer for multiple years, we never have been charged for fresh bread. The gentlemen at the register mentioned he did not take our order and could not confirm. The owner (who took the order) entered the conversation and justified that he made us good food and can not be subjective to customers. My father said that is not the issue, and that he had never been charged before for the bread. He then mentioned my father was yelling at him and my father said this is my normal tone (he does have a loud voice naturally). My father asked for the order to be canceled and handed the owner his card. The owner proceeded to the register with the card and then threw the card on the ground and proceeded to use profanity under his breath as he went into the kitchen. My father waited a few minutes, the owner did not return. My father finally signed the receipt unwillingly and brought the food home. We specified we wanted only lamb and chicken for the Shish Combo, cooked medium. Lamb Shish Kabobs were replaced with kafta when it was not asked. The meat was cooked well done and not medium. No garlic spread was given even though it is on the menu for the Shish Combo for Two. Since we have been going there for multiple years, we did not expect the unprofessional behavior as accounted above from the owner. This aggressive behavior was not appreciated and a...
Read moreI wanted to like this place. Its close to home and I//we love Mediterranean food. I read the other reviews and thought, "okay other people have good things to say...lets try it!" I really do not enjoy writing bad reviews. Especially considering it was a total waste of near 30$ as most of it ended up in the trash. My fiancé ate his first. He did not like it. His overall description of it was "weird". Which I knew EXACTLY what he meant by this when I tried mine. The after taste was really...weird. Really, really bad. I havent had anything that I have thought has tasted that bad in a very very long time ((I can't even remember the last time rn)). Even the smell afterwards completely turned me off. I'm sorry to say, but I thought I may throw up. Most of it went into the trash, unfortunately. I don't ever throw food away like that because I don't like to waste. But there was just no way I could stomach another bite of it. I did take a few bites..hoping I would get used to the taste and//or it would start to taste better. That never happened. My fiancé got the chicken shwarma. I got the bbq chicken wrap. The tomatoes were really gross. The chicken didnt seem bad in mine, unlike in my fiancés, other than it was really pink in some spots...which I'm hoping was the bbq sauce. However, the rest tasted so bad it didnt matter. I'm sorry to say, idk if I'll ever be back. I really wanted to like it, but I just...couldn't. The taste is still in my mouth, its like I can't get rid of it...and not...
Read moreI had been to Farm Grill a few times but it had been years since I was last there. My wife and I randomly stumbled across La Marsa in Farmington and have been going there for years.. I honestly couldn't remember what Farm Grill was like, so we decided to stop in and give it a shot. For comparative purposes I ordered the same thing I get at La Marsa; lamb chop dinner with rice and crushed lentil soup, and an appetizer of hummus.
Our meal started with the bread. It came out fast and was hot. It was very soft - but I prefer it to have a slight crisp to it, but it was good. Unfortunately it does not come with garlic. Score one for La Marsa here as the garlic is included and is amazing. The hummus came out next and was good. Very comparable...pretty evenly tied. The crushed lentil soup came out next and it was very thin. I was not a fan, neither was my wife. This was not even in the ballpark of what I have had at many restaurants and I wouldn't order it again. From there the dinner. Both the rice and lamb we're good - but not as good as La Marsa. I can't quite explain it, but the flavors just weren't therr. On the plus the portions were bigger, and at a slightly better price point.
The restaurant was certainly clean, and we were happy with the service.
All told it was a good meal, but we will continue the commute to Farmington when we are craving...
