Awful experience. No aloha.

Treats were good but the experience was pretty crappy. They order you around and tell you where to stand. They only let one party into the store at a time, even when there’s plenty of room.

Ever see the Soup Nazi episode of Seinfeld? I went home and watched it to help me process the way Angel’s treats their customers.

But unlike with the Soup Nazi, you can’t step to the counter and order because you’re unable to see the menu because you’re outside pushed against a brick wall. The windows are blocked by coolers and storage boxes that belong in the back room. The windows are all covered with “1 Party Inside At A Time” signs so you can’t see in and read the menu.

Stay away. Go somewhere with the aloha spirit instead.

The company replies below that they aren't doing it maliciously. Of course that's true. But millions of other shops face these same issues and deal with them in much more customer-friendly ways than this place does. You have a...

We were hungry and stopped on the North Shore in Laie. We noticed that many people kept coming out of this ice cream shop. So we decided to check it out.

So glad we did! We are picky about our shave ice. We like the ice shaved very fine, with a proper snowcap, and great ice cream bottom. Angels Ice Cream creates such a wonderful shave ice, we went out of our way to get some more.

Try the Shave Ice Bowl. Served in a large cup with vanilla ice cream, 3 flavors of syrup, the Shave Ice Bowl is topped with your choice of 2 toppings: strawberry popping boba, tapioca boba, mochi, red azuki beans. We tried different combinations each time.

Angel herself is so friendly... we love her smile and genuine sincerity. Please say hi to her when you stop by! You won't...

Local favorite. Shave Ice that rivals the north shore famous spots. Very good prices. Huge menu with lots of options. Recommend the shave ice with vanilla ice cream and condensed milk. Lychee is my favorite flavor syrup. Dole whip soft serve is delicious and a fraction of the price of the same at PCC. Service can be great. Manager and some of the staff are great. Quick. Efficient. Helpful. Some can't be bothered to ask your order or greet you when you walk in. It's hit or miss and is reflected in my tip 🤷🏽‍♀️ I still go and am always happy with my order if not always...

DELICIOUS!! Best pineapple whip I’ve had on the island, it was so creamy and perfectly flavored. I also got the white chocolate macadamia nut ice cream which was to die for and the coconut ice cream which was incredible!! Also, pretty reasonably priced, about $5 per scoop. Good location next to grocery store, gas station and other restaurants. Safe area with nice outdoor seating, we loved eating and watching the sunset! Note: my friend got the dragon fruit smoothie and it was pretty but very mid, would not recommend unless you absolutely love dragon fruit.

First thing about this place... it's like "a hole in the wall" so it's good and feels good! Not that hype fancy with huge line that you're use to in Hawaii! The workers are nice and friendly and will always smile (: I tried the Angel's Halo with Ice cream. The shave ice is so soft and fluffy. It just literally melts in your mouth. There is a lot of flavors to try and a lot of options on the menu for everyone. I got a small size, was able to share with my wife and was still satisfied. Paid under $6 for the Angel Halo with ice cream.

Should I stop? Is it worth throwing my calories for the day? Both are good questions I ask myself each time I drive past this joint to/from a day on the North Shore. And I never regret when my decision is ‘yes.’ The staff is local and always smiling and the ice cream is good enough that you can forgive the tough parking and cramped restaurant quarters. Overall, this place won’t change your life, but it’ll put a smile on your face and is good enough that you’ll think back on it fondly the next day.
