L&L Hawaiian Barbecue — Restaurant in Oʻahu

I usually get the healthier bbq chicken and my husband usually gets the healthier garlic shrimp with spring rolls and cream cheese puffs on the side from the Waipahu L&L restaurant.

Not only does this restaurant not have the same house dressing as the Waipahu one… not only do they have crappy packet dressing (kraft Italian or Ranch) but their salad portion size is a lot smaller… they put shredded cabbage under the meat to fill the plate at the Kapolei restaurant but the one in Waipahu has an abundance of salad. throughout the entire plate with the exception of the corner with the brown rice scoop.

The garlic shrimp are also a lot smaller at Kapolei location. They don’t sauté them like at Waipahu… they look like they were steamed. My husband called it “rubbish”.

The most important thing to make note of is the fact that this location doesn’t even offer any sides like other locations. Spring rolls and cream cheese puffs are something that we look forward to… we were extremely disappointed at the fact that they didn’t offer them at this location. Wanted fish because we'd visited other locations and was satisfied with the others. Who'd thought there'd be a big difference. When I walked in there were no line. Approached counter and male was on the phone. He had no courtesy to acknowledge me. He just continued on the phone. Once off, a lady walked from sitting down and he helped her before me and she stood there still trying to decide. He finally aaked for my order. For one, they olny had Basa and not Mahi mahi. I asked for it to be crispy. Anywho waited and left with order as we were only seconds from living area . Should've looked while there. Opened and fish looked poorly cooked and not crispy and.. it was extremely fishy tasting and disgusting. The only thing i was able to eat were the fries even though there were wet. On June 4th, I ordered a regular roast pork plate and a side order of macaroni for an additional $3.35; when called to pick up my order, I noticed my side order was not there. I told the lady that took my order that I was missing my side order of mac salad; she said that they put it all together in the plate. I go there regularly and my side order of mac salad is usually put in small separate container. I did not want my side order mixed together with the gravy of the roast pork plate and I was planning to eat the mac salad later. They just scooped the mac salad from the plate with gravy and put it in another container and it was way less than the 2 scoops usually given! @ $3.35 as listed on the menu. Take care your customers and do the right thing by just correcting the order and giving me the mac salad on the side with no mixing...
