The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf Kapolei — Restaurant in Oʻahu

I am so unimpressed with the service, coffee, and quality. If I wanted mostly ice I would go to the local grocery store right there and buy a bag for $5 instead... I paid $6 for this half full cup of sickly sweet nonsense. They stopped brewing actual coffee at 8am they said. Their espresso is all dark roast. I decided to go for the vanilla cream cold brew and they said it would be a little less full and gestured an inch. I was like ok that's fine. This is not an inch. I paid for the coffee why wouldn't you just fill it. Anyways, this is why Starbucks dominates. Came in on Saturday 3/31/18, at around 520 ish. Ordered two drinks and waited 15 minutes. The girl that was working didn’t even announce that our drinks were ready. She saw that we were waiting for awhile and didn’t even call it out. After she gave a customer who she helped after us their drinks I went to the counter to ask her if our drinks were made when I saw they had been sitting on the counter for god knows how long... very bad customer service skills.... if you see a customer looking at you and you were finished you should have said something... not just ignore them or atleast call it out so we know it’s done. I manage a food place and this is something you learn when you first get hired! ...

Stopped by the Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf inside Foodland Kapolei and was disappointed. I ordered an iced Americano and veggie egg bites and sat down by the two-seater tables near the counter that divides Foodland and CBTL only to spot two roaches crawling nearby. I moved to the tables closer to the door and away from walls and counters but was then bothered by several flies.

The Americano was decent but the veggie egg bites were lukewarm and lacked flavor. Even if they were heated longer, I don’t think it would’ve made much of a difference.

Cleanliness needs serious attention. Hoping they improve this...
