We dined here on 5/26. A member of our group suffered a severe allergic reaction to food from Lanikai Brewing due to an improperly labeled menu. Our group went for beers and dinner, our friend is allergic to tree nuts, including macadamia nuts. We ordered a salad from the menu which was supposed to come with almonds, as clearly written on the menu. After it arrived unfortunately within bites it was apparent that the nuts on top were not almonds but rather macadamia nuts, which our friend is allergic to. She began to develop hives and nausea so we alerted our wait staff to ask if the salad had macadamia nuts instead of almonds. Our waitress reassured us that it was in fact almonds based on what was printed on the menu but did not check with the kitchen. When our friend began to feel worse we alerted another member of the wait staff who found out that the kitchen had switched to macadamia nuts but they have not yet updated the menu. At this point the wait staff were apologetic however did not make any attempts to make up for this dangerous and concerning mistake. At no point did the managing staff reach out to apologize or make amends. They did reluctantly allow us to have a trash bag for the ride home. We are beyond disappointed by the lack of professionalism and safety standards at this brewery, and caution anyone with food allergies to triple check with the staff and kitchen prior to eating anything here. They do have a wide...
Read moreWent here for a refreshing beer after trying a few other places in the area the days before. We were really excited and their beer selection looked pretty good. We were told to sit anywhere and there were two tables to sit at so we sat at a table near the bar so we could read the menu. The girl behind the bar asked what we wanted and so I got up to go and show her my ID/ order since she wasn’t coming around the bar and I was putting my mask on and she told me to just tell her from my table because I can’t stand up without having a mask on which is what I was in the process of doing. Meanwhile there was a girl behind the bar training and the other workers were knit picking every little thing she was doing and not helping her just saying what she was doing wrong and watching her like a hawk. Three tables had to get up on their own to cash out because no one was checking on the tables rather they were just standing around/behind the bar not tending to any of their customers in the dining room. Overall very bad service and it wasn’t even busy. My friend told the girl training. She was doing a good job and the girl looked like she was about to cry. I also told one of the workers I liked her nails when I was cashing out and she said she just got them done and didn’t like them and just walked away from me without saying anything else. Very entitled and non attentive workers. Beer was okay but will not be...
Read moreI usually love this brewery. The beer is great, and the cocktails, while ridiculously expensive, are really well made. Valentina’s, the food truck that serves the place, used to be solid. But the last three times I’ve visited over the past few months, the food has taken an absurd amount of time to come out.
I’m talking about waiting an hour for a pizza, only for it to show up undercooked, with raw dough. Wood-fired pizzas should take maybe five minutes in the oven, tops. This isn’t on the bartenders or servers at Lanikai, they’ve been awesome every time. The issue is clearly with whoever is working in the Valentina’s kitchen.
If it weren’t for the amazing front-of-house staff, this would be a one-star review. I’ve worked in the service industry for over a decade, and I really hope someone evaluates what’s going on with this food truck. This time around, I even put the order in 15 minutes before my friend arrived - who was on their lunch break btw - and they still had to leave before the food ever came out. And even then, it took another 15 minutes after they left for the pizza to show up, still not fully cooked.
An hour? For an underdone pizza? Come on. And for the price you’re charging, it’s just unacceptable. It may not be Lanikai Brewing’s kitchen, but this kind of experience does reflect poorly on the...
