New Mui Kwai Chop Suey — Restaurant in Oʻahu

I just purchased two lunch plates, 6 pork hash and 1 rice cake. Upon getting home and making plates for my kids I of course took a couple bites. The red meat was sour as in old and bad. The beef broccoli with noodle was also soured and bad. Now my family has been coming to this restaurant for 30 years as this was my grandmothers favorite place to come. We have always ordered the same food. Upon calling to tell them about their food being bad and soured they proceeded to tell us it was us and not their food. They refused to refund our money which was only $25. I am shocked that my family and I have supported this restaurant for years only to now have a problem and instead of them taking responsibility for it they blamed us. We ordered this food to give a local spot a try. It was barely eatable. We order the spring rolls were mushy and soggy in the center, and lacked any decent flavors we also order general tsp chicken, a bit string little flavor nothing to write home about, orange chicken, again stringy and ok. Order the Kam Pow chicken that was the best chicken but that was only because it has some heat which added some flavor. Last and the worst thing we ordered wa the house chow mein it tasted like broccoli/bok choi and not much else.

Over all the lack of flavor didn’t make up for the simple fact it wasn’t good and vastly over priced.

At first, everyone was suspicious. The restaurant is in a hole-in-the-wall building. The decor was outdated and the dining area was empty. But what the heck, we're on an adventure and I need to find my go-to place for Chinese food. Turned out to be a great decision! Service was great, portions were huge, prices were reasonable, and I've found my spot for fried rice! Personally didn't care for the crab rangoons, but that's very much a matter of personal taste.
