This was actually our second favorite restaurant at the resort coming close to Makahiki for a meal for two. We ate here twice trying different items each time and we were very impressed. Food was incredibly flavorful as food always is here, being poolside for our table was awesome and we had super kind and attentive servers while we were there. One of whom introduced me to plantation iced tea which is their unsweetened tea with fresh pineapple juice. It was amazing and I ordered it every time we went. We also tried alcohol drinks while we were there and I can wholeheartedly recommend the Lava Flow if you like sweet icy drinks. We also got our drinks in a frozen pineapple once to say we did it but it was too expensive for us to make it a regular thing. I enjoyed both the salmon and skirt steak while I was there but I can say for sure that the salmon pulled ahead a little of the steak. The best time to be able to walk up to the restaurant and get a table for dinner will be early around 5pm and later around 8pm. 6-7 is their busiest time and they will tell you the wait will be an hour. HOWEVER, we did not wait an hour either time. We waited between 25-35 minutes each time. My guess is that people put their names down but can't wait that long for a table. We just spent the wait time taking sunset pictures on the Ko'Olina trail on the rocks in front of the Four Seasons. Also during lunch time they offer poolside food and drinks so you don't have to leave your beach chair or pull your family out of the pool to eat! Your chairs will have a server that comes around and takes your drink and food order for everyone and they deliver it directly to your chair! Just spectacular touch from Disney on this item. That is probably the best advice I can offer and I do recommend this place a very highly for a quick sit down meal. It is more expensive than Ulu Cafe at $16-35 a meal but definitely worth it if you don't have reservations at Makahiki or...
Read moreOff the Hook is one of your casual dining options at Disney's Aulani resort in Oahu. You can use their dining areas or order anything from the menu poolside if you really want the full resort experience. We did both, having a lunch meal there once and also ordering a drink and snack poolside another time.
They've got a Beyond Burger option if you're a vegetarian like us (at least it tasted like a Beyond patty, though they called it the "Plant Protein Burger." Whatever it was called it tasted really good, especially selecting onion rings as the side and putting one of those baby's on the burger. It was kind of "off the hook."
The onion rings were also really good in general, especially with the spa ranch that they came with (plus the side of BBQ sauce I got.)
Our 12 year old really dug his Strawberry Guava Island Cooler...so much so that he got one pool side the next day.
My wife wasn't too fond of the Today's Catch Tacos and she sent back the side of pineapple as she felt it wasn't as fresh as it should be in the middle of Hawaii. (Opting for fries instead.)
Our server when dining in was VERY friendly and knowledgable about the menu. They also offer a few other options for vegetarians including salads, flatbreads, and an interesting looking Batter-dipped Cauliflower Florets (think cauliflower wings) as a side.
I really liked the coconut mint mojito I got poolside the next...
