This was our very first time ordering dinner from any of the food trucks at Waikele Premium Outlets & I for one was pleasantly surprised at how flavorful & absolutely delicious Rainbow Steam was!! We ordered the chef-recommended Kalbi plate, as well as the Pineapple Shrimp plate. He also recommended the Pineapple Pork plate, but we decided to go for our own "surf & turf" type of combo for the time being. We also ordered a lemonade & can of Sprite, all for what now can be viewed as a VERY reasonable price for such yummy plate lunches!! Since the food is made to order, we were advised that it might take about 10 minutes until it was ready, which was fine. We found our way to the adjacent dining area that was made up of a simple grouping of tables with benches, topped by umbrellas, lined with strings of lights, a nice setting for a simple outdoor dining experience. There were 2 trash bins nearby for easy disposal after other patrons had finished their meals. The lemonade was served in a tall cup with ice & was very refreshing to say the least. Not too sweet & not too sour; it was just perfectly cold & smooth. In no time, Chef Alex brought our plates out to us, along with hashi & napkins. The bone-in kalbi spareribs were abundant, providing juicy, flavorful bites that were conveniently cut per bone, which made for easy eating. The pieces (I'd say about 10) were all laid on top of one another on a generous bed of white rice, which filled about half the lunch box. With it, a cup of their stir-fried kimchi & a side salad of green lettuce & red cabbage with just enough dressing to tie it all together. It was the perfect balance of flavors, all complementing each other very well. The Pineapple Shrimp was a TOTAL WIN!! I want to say there were about 8 pieces total of the meatiest shrimp that I've ever bitten into outside of Kahuku. Talk about a more than satisfying bite of a tasty, thick butterflied shrimp cleaned & cooked to perfection. Omgosh, YUM!! Paired with a good portion of juicy pineapple chunks served over white rice, let's just say that I'm DEFINITELY coming back for more shrimp the next time I'm out in Waikele. More stir-fried kimchi rounded out the plate. We also enjoyed some bowls of hot Kimchi Jjigae, which also did not disappoint. The soup was hearty with a warm, spicy mixture of good-sized bites of stewed tofu, cabbage & yummy chunks of melt in your mouth pork. Wow! What a terrific end to an unexpectedly AWESOME meal. Thank you, Chef Alex & Rainbow Steam!! We'll be back for more very...
Read moreMy favorite stop, at Waikele food trucks! I tried them all, trust me! I love to go to Waikele Outlets first thing in the morning, walk around and shop until I get very hungry. This place is great! So much to choose from and, moreover you can still shop until dawn. There are many busses that come to Waikele Mall which has everything you need! Make sure you bring an empty suitcase, as for sure, you will fill it up quickly! What a great place! Try to avoid weekends, as it gets...

It’s a popular place to eat during a day of shopping. There is limited seating...
