Darrell T. Young Waikele Community Park — Attraction in Oʻahu

This park is in utter disarray. The rubber ground in the jungle gym area is flat out dangerous. There are chunks missing from it that are trip hazards for young children, whether they are running or not. I dubbed this park "the lost parents park," because parents routinely show up here, "unleash" their children, and sit in their tailgating chairs or vehicles- on their phones of course. I have notified the workers of the dangers and they just smile and go about their day, spending hours to test sprinklers, lol. My wife and I love this cute little park - we always find parking and the massive field is perfect for our 2 year old to stretch his legs and exhaust his endless energy at.
