Jose'peños Mexican Restaurants — Restaurant in O’Fallon

I have been to this restaurant a few times. But NEVER have i been so insulted in a restaurant in all my life. My family and i came in to enjoy dinner and looked at the specials on the chalboard when we walked in. on the board is specifically said $7.99 for a mojito. it did not specify large or small. when the server took our 4 orders I specifically asked for the specials on the board . the server never asked if I wanted a specific size. When the bill came the drink was $17.99. So i went to the mgr (the owners son and he insulted my intelligence by stating someone must have erased the one makimg it look 7.99. There was not an erase mark nor was the room to have a one in front of the 7. I asked to speak with the owner. Ihe manager said that he wasn't there and that it was his "dad" ...He assured me that the drink in fact was 17.99 and i needed to pay that amout. I had stated I absolutely will not pay that amt. I said I will be in touch with the owner and he turned his back on me and flicked me off. As i was leaving there was a server who wrote the word (small) on the chalkboard. I have pictures to prove all of this! I am completely digusted that the owners "SON" was so professional. Never again will we eat here and i will tell EVERYONE I know what happened....

Have been coming here for years. Doesnt matter who the server is, you are always treated like family. Jose is the absolute best and always comes over to chat with us while we wait for our order. Saul. Allen. Always greet us with good to see you again! And tonight it was Cameron! But tonight was a different level of service. I am a diabetic and had a really bad low blood sugar episode at the table. I asked Cameron for a few sugar packets and he saw me shaking really bad and asked me if I was diabetic. I told him I was. He left to get me a soda and some candy all without me asking him and literally came back to check on me every 2 minutes until I had stabilized. I made sure to leave him a generous tip of appreciation and told him he was destined for great things just based on his sincere interest in my well being. Jose then came over to check on me and I joked with him and tried telling him it was his tacos that caused it LOL! Cannot speak highly enough of this gem of O’Fallon! Thanks again Jose and Cameron! First off let me say we normally go to El Tio pepe on North side of O'Fallon and we really like that place, and we also enjoy El maguay on hwy K.. We wanted to try a different place and we're glad we did. We thought the waiter was great and attentive. Atmosphere was nice but would have felt more in character if they had some Mexican music playing low in background. The chips and salsa were good, fresh and filled when empty. Good food selection and the quality was good as well.. We finished off a pitcher of top shelf margaritas that also were good.

The restaurant area was nice but would have been nice to have a more comfortable booth instead of the bench style. They also have a similar size bar area with additional seating that would probably be a good place for a Cinco design mayo or happy hour.

We went there last Friday night about 630 pm and did not have to wait. The bar area was about 10% full and eating area about 70%.
