A gem for sure. First time dining on Peruvian food and what a pleasant surprise. Great mix of flavors packed into each bite.
I had no idea at all what to order so I asked my server Thalia to surprise me with 3 items off the lunch special. They served banana chips and some kind of baked corn as a snack kinda like chips at a Mexican restaurant. Nice touch.
She chose the Chicha Morada for my drink. It had a pinch of spicy to it that was great. Loved it.
Next she chose the Causa Limena' as the appetizer. This is certainly a flavorful mix of potato flavor. It was served cold and I was not expecting that. Great presentation on the dish. Made me feel like I was dining 5 star. It was filled with plenty of the shredded chicken for sure. The mayo added a surprising touch of creamy flavor.
For the main menu meal Thalia chose the Aji de Gallina. It again was loaded with shredded chicken and the gravy was phenomenal. I just can't pinpoint the flavor but it was good. The potatoes were done to perfection.
There sure are a lot of carb starches in Peruvian food but I would definitely order it again.
The restaurant was clean and service from Thalia was outstanding. Hats off to the chef for the beautiful presentation. Can't wait to go back and try something new. And what a bargain on the $15.00 lunch menu. It was more than I could finish so I actually got 2 meals...
Read moreI would give ZERO stars but there is not an option. Unfortunately the service we received was absolutely atrocious. When we entered, the restaurant was fairly empty with only 4 other tables seated, so we figured it would be good service. To start, it took entirely too long for server just to come by with menus. As we waited for quite some time again, we had to flag them down just to place our order. We ordered an appetizer (and pointed out to please bring that first) and 2 entrees. Surprisingly the food arrived at a reasonable time, but when we noticed our appetizer came out at the same time as the entree, the server got snippy saying that's just how it is and she just brings the food the kitchen sends, at the time they send it and in the order they send it. It should also be noted that we just now had got our drinks as well once the food arrived. The server also completely forgot one of our items, the ceviche, we ordered so we had to have it removed from our bill. Just saying also that this type of service did not happen once, there is a pattern of poor service at this place. Our fault for trying to give it a chance. Due to the lackluster service we will never be returning.
Ps: Food was just ok. Nothing really outstanding honestly. And even with this poor service we have always...
