THE OYSTERS ARE INCREDIBLE!
If you haven’t been to Haag Seafood yet, definitely make a trip to check them out. Not only were they giving free raw oyster samples at the door, but the staff was so incredibly energetic and friendly that it makes me wonder why I’ve been going anywhere else to get my seafood.
I live in Wilmington, and will gladly be making the hour trip to get my seafood every time I’m having a hankering from now on.
We bought a half bushel of Top Sail oyster clusters and eagerly brought them home to: wash, steam, and shuck. We had a group of 5 people and, even then, were only able to make it through half of what we bought.
The quality was superb, the service was spectacular, and I couldn’t recommend them higher to anyone looking for a new place to get fresh seafood.

Read moreWanted so bad to leave five stars. My 2nd visit I came in looking for some white fish to cook. The fishmonger was friendly and paitiently answering my questions. Another staff member came by and looked at at the fishmonger helping me and she said "could it be any harder?" and walked away. I looked at the fishmonger and confusingly asked "Am I taking too long?". He politely said no and was honestly as friendly as can be. The interaction was maybe five minutes tops. He went along without explanation or issue. Odd customer service culture from great to passive aggressive. I went out of my way and have other options. I used to recommend this place to friends. I didn't make a fuss and left with my fish. You would think a fish market partially dependant on excited tourists would have no problem educating customers on thier product without complaints. It is what...

I went in looking for enough Grouper to feed seven adults. Price was $30 per pound, but there was this big, huge, beautiful massive display piece on the ice table...
The wonderful woman at the counter suggested I try Tritail instead, She suggested it had similar texture and flavor at one third the price. As luck would have it, I got the last Tritail from the ice table. I cannot tell you how happy everyone was with this fish,
More importantly, these folks are honest, helpful and not in it to screw over the tourists (which I am not as a 50% resident). But they didn't know me from Adam and still made me the...
