This happened 07/24/2023. I hope the owners of this place read this, because they should be embarrassed and downright ashamed of their establishment and service standards that the staff is lacking.
Two weeks ago, I went to visit my family and heard about Bee's Cafe. I wanted to take my nana there with my niece and it was the worst decision I made. We had the displeasure of getting unacceptable service (or lack there of) from waitresses who can't even manage to wait on tables or check to see if everything is tasting okay or if we were missing anything; both of which were huge issues at our table. My nana had ordered a bowl of Macaroni and Cheese and was served a COLD BOWL of pasta with a chilled fork. We tried flagging down a waitress but all were too busy flirting with the cooks or too busy on their phones with each other not paying any mind to what was going on in front. We were sitting at the table in front of the display counter, where you can see pastries.
After a few minutes of waiting, I got up and went to the counter with the Mac and cheese just wanting it to be heated up as my nana was really hungry and couldn't manage anything else. I stood there for several seconds until one waitress saw I was there and she came over bewildered. I told her about the chilled fork and cold Mac and cheese and asked if we could just simply have the Mac and cheese nuked in a microwave to save time. Without as much as an apology, she took the cold dish and took it to the back. We thought we were going to get it back in a few minutes, but it turned out they lack communication with cooks or team members.
We watched and waited over 15 minutes and stopped timing after it was clear my Nana was not going to get her food. To pass the time, we had a timer on, wondering when my Nana would get her hot bowl of Mac and cheese order. We figured they were probably remaking the Mac and cheese but we should have not assumed that they would give us the courtesy.
After waiting so long, my nana had enough as one waitress was taking a food order that had been sitting in the window for far too long. When the waitress passed by, my nana asked if she could speak with her about something. When the waitress came back, we told her that we were still waiting for Mac and cheese and her response, "Oh, you didn't get it?" We couldn't believe that this whole time, they were oblivious to what orders had come and gone out and the lack of communication between staff is abysmal. There is no excuse for four or five waitresses in the front to be standing around doodling on cups, taking selfies, or leaving multiple food orders sitting in the window and not check tables.
Is it a lack of communication? Is it a lack of trying, or is this a lack of management and owner engagement and not holding staff members accountable for their actions? Where were the owners? Where was the manager? Where is a Supervisor? All of which were not there or were uninterested in what was happening in the front. I felt bad for the waitress who finally came to help us as we were frustrated and needed to get the hell out of there.
What is upsetting, is I spent over $68 dollars, plus tip at the register. That tip was not earned as it is ridiculous that the POS asks for a tip when services are not given. This place will...
Read moreCame here because of the reviews but I was disappointed by the food and service. We waited about 15-20 min in line to order and over 40min for our food. They seem unorganized as the food did not come out together. They brought out two plates first, later three more, and a while later the last plate.
My husband ordered the fried chicken breast with sausage gravy. He requested the gravy on the side. The menu described it as, "seasoned chicken breast" but instead he got a chicken tender (picture below). A chicken tender is small and NOT the same as a chicken breast. I ordered the chicken croissant sandwich with sweet potato fries. The sandwich was ok, the fries were good.
I had a weird interaction with a waitress. When they brought our first two plates, they did not bring any silverware. I got up to get some, walked to the front and waited for someone to help but nobody acknowledged me. I finally got the attention of a waitress and asked for silverware. She refused to give me any and instead said they would bring it to us with our food. She walked away as I was still talking to her, explaining that they brought our food but no silverware. I went back to the table, moments later they brought three more plates and again no silverware. I had to asked for silverware a second time.
Eating a sandwich with silverware is a perfectly acceptable practice, particularly if it's messy or difficult to handle with your hands. I say this because the waitress who refused to give me silverware was attentive with the other guest sitting near us, they were given silverware.
I was disappointed with the service because the night before we went to Smokehouse 41 and the staff was super nice and attentive with ALL their customers. Everyone there was easy going...
Read moreMy first time here today (chose this for my birthday breakfast!) and I'm thoroughly impressed! The pastry and coffee was spot on and my meal was outta this world delicious. Can't wait to come back and try more items. The only thing that would make it any better is if it were a traditional sit down service with coffee refills in actual mugs instead of ordering at the counter. But they are extremely efficient and counter service is what's keeping the prices manageable. I got a brownie to go that i can't wait to try later and there were several other items in that case that sparked my interest. Also to note, i love that the specialty flavored coffee i got.. the Almond Joy latte... wasn't too sweet!!! Most are for me, so there's another plus. All in all, I'm a new fan and can't wait to return. 💗 😍😍UPDATE! 😍😍 We loved it so much for breakfast that we returned the very next day for lunch and we were wowed once again! I had the red, white and blue salad and my friend had the french dip sandwich. We both LOVED our meals. We also bought more items from the bakery case as well as a couple of take home jars of the habanero bacon jam. Can't recommend these...
