I've been looking forward to writing this review. My experience with this place was definitely unique.
Went here with my kid, on vacation. We were both craving pizza. There's only so many options in Oakridge at night. Settled on this place. Get there at like 8pm or so. Order the salad bar & a medium pizza. Mostly teenagers working there. Probably seniors or freshly graduated.
Anyway, the guy hands me a plate for the salad bar. Walk over there to find everything covered up, plus I need tongs & spoons for stuff. Apparently, he was not supposed to offer the salad bar. It was closed. They still allowed me to load up a plate though, which I appreciated.
My kid & I sit outside cuz it was a nice night out. I go inside to use the restroom. My kid had to go inside too for some reason. In this brief moment of time, some random dude off the street gets into the outside seating area, sits at our table, throws away our drink & my kids' lollipop. I'm like, "What the hell?" He's just sitting there smoking a cigarette, mumbles something random. While I'm getting another drink & alerting the staff about this dude, he books it outta there.
So, we find a new table & wait for our pizza. There's one other couple sitting outside. The kid opens the door & calls my name, to which the girl in the other group sitting outside responds to my name, as if it was their pizza. The kid asks no questions & just hands it to them. So, knowing that I heard my name called, walk over to the couple, as the girl realizes it is not the pizza they ordered. She looks at my pizza in disgust, & hands it to me.
I then walk it back to our table, only to discover that the cheese was still partly grated...& not melted on most of the middle of the pizza. So yeah, it wasn't even cooked all the way. Shredded cheese was still pretty visible on top. Had to take it back inside to have it cooked thoroughly.
I'm not sure if I've ever had this many random things happen in one single visit to a family pizza joint. I was almost impressed that it was that eventful. Just wish it was like good things that happened, & not bad.
Obviously, the service was completely bizarre. I don't even know how to rate it. Like.... "thanks for not setting me on fire while eating at your restaurant?" The bar just kept getting lowered to the point that I'm glad we made it out safely & I didn't get sick. Which right there is a positive... neither one of us got sick! Hooray!
Food was fine. I'm not sure if I'd go back or not. With the right company, absolutely. Could be fun. Don't recommend for families. Sorry. If you go though, good...
Read moreI had a bad experience with the Oakhurst Pizza Factory tonight. I placed a take-out order and upon returning home there was a missing meal. I called right away to inform them that we were on our way back to pick-up the missing meal. Assuming it just didn’t make it into the bag. Apparently, it had never been cooked. Returning to the restaurant I was advised that it would be 20 to 30 minutes. No apology! All our other just purchased meals were cold. We were short on time and could not wait an additional 30 minutes. I called and asked them to please just credit my card for the missing item and was told they couldn’t credit my account. The reason was they just don’t do that anymore. That answer came from the manager to a customer with a missing meal. If you can charge a credit card - you can credit an account, just as easy. That answer is unacceptable. No apology, unprofessional, bad attitude, no credit for a meal that I didn’t receive. The way I see it Pizza Factory Oakhurst you just stole yourself a $14.00 tip. It is not like they were slammed with customers, there was only one other customer in the building when we arrived to pick up the missing meal. Lots of other choices in our neck of the woods.
Reply to Pam 3-30-2023 Hello Pam, Thanks for your reply. I am thankful that you agree that this behavior by your manager is unacceptable. Our family has lived here for years and we have been regular Pizza Factory customers. Not only was the Managers behavior unprofessional with me, but she actually took the phone from an employee, while the employee was in the process of telling me that she was unable to credit my card personally for the missing item, but that the Manager could. That is when the nameless Manager took the phone while the other employee and I were having that conversation. No apology, no introduction, she just said, this is the Manager and that she would give me a free replacement the next time I was in. I explained that I wanted a credit for the meal that I never received. I was then told by her that we don’t do that anymore. I explained to her that it wasn’t that we had a problem with the item it was that we never received what we had paid for. She was aware of that and again repeated that they cannot credit my account and that I should remind them the next time I order so they give me a free calzone. My order was in the amount $62.47. Placed on 3/25/23 at 6.23pm. The receipt number is 0064. I am in your store contacts, feel free to call me if you need any additional...
Read moreWe had terrible experience at The Pizza Factory.
We were returning from Yosemite to the bay area, and ordered a pizza via phone half an hour before reaching the store for dine-in, but the staff mistakenly noted it as a takeout order. When we reached the store, they accepted the payment. But they told that it would take fifty minutes to prepare. We waited for over half an hour, but according to them, the pizza wasn't “ready”. We waited another half hour, and the pizza was still not ready. By this time it was more than two hours since we ordered the pizza. We asked them a third time (I was about to ask for my money back) when they finally gave us the pizza. Note that the pizza had already been completed much earlier, it was sitting there for around an hour, they simply delayed handing over the order since we were sitting inside the restaurant. They wanted to make us wait until the closing time so that at the end we would have no option other than taking it out. This was a passive aggressive way to “almost refuse” service to people of color. Needless to say that the pizza was already cold and tasted terrible.
The manager was rude and confrontational when I asked about the situation. She said that they delayed handing us our order because it was a takeout order. However, I had clearly told them that I was dining in. More importantly, even if it was carryout — they could simply say so instead of keeping us waiting. The manager refused to apologize and she was rude and her behavior was racially insensitive. For example, when I asked about our order she said “Oh the vegetarians.” She is a disgrace to this store, and needless to say tarnished the pizza factory brand.
The other employees in the store were also rude. They were making insensitive comments about my group when we were there. I felt uncomfortable and unwelcome.
The food quality at this Pizza Factory is bad. The pizza tasted bland and the crust was tasteless. I would not recommend this particular location to anyone.
I would give this restaurant one star, but I can't even...
