"See you tomorrow!" -Hannah (to every one of her customers)
Oh, how I'm so glad to be hearing those words again! Nibs is my favorite diner in the East Bay. Forget the overpriced hipster joints - I want all the diner classics and big portions and reasonable prices, with the "mom & pop" feel (and Hannah and Alex are indeed a mom and pop).
I used to eat at Nibs in El Cerrito nearly every week. And now they've re-opened in my favorite city, in a location that was in desperate need of a reasonable neighborhood diner. They've brought back the same menu, along with many of the same things that made the original great - family atmosphere, crunchy bacon, soft and slightly chewy pancakes, killer burgers, gigantic omelettes, breakfast plates that come with RICE, and that secret Italian dressing they put on their salads. Don't sleep on the teriyaki plates either - beef, chicken, or salmon - they are my "go to" plates when I'm hungry.
My favorite thing about Nibs is that it's like sports, fighting, or puzzle video games - it has replay value! You can truly come here again and again without a lot of hoopla, or feeling like you paid the extra, oft-present $10...
Read moreI drive trucks for the Garbage company so I went there the first time for convenience because I have to order food to go, but the food was so good I go there whenever I can for breakfast or lunch the tuna or chicken salad sandwich is always fresh and the omelets are prepared chef style not fast food the service is the best her personality is beautiful I have yet to be disappointed in the food, the food is prepared by a chef who wanted his own business so that means the food is excellent way beyond what you would expect and when I leave she says Bye Joe see you tomorrow she says that to all her customers because she knows will be back you can tell the food is good in there because every nationality goes there so if your thinking about going there don't hesitate because once you do .... She'll see...
Read moreBrought my wife here for a V-day breakfast because the reviews were so good. We will never go back here. Service took over an hour for our food to be brought out. They serviced all take out orders first and constantly. The waitress/co-owner never came over to tell us how long the wait would be. Never offered us anything after taking our order.
When our food did arrive, I was missing part of my order and a request that I made. They took my food and put it in the microwave to meet my request vs. making it over, which then made it overly done and overly hot.. to the point of being unable to eat it. My bacon was burnt and inedible, and my wife's food was cold. How can for that take over an hour be served cold??? This place is a joke. We will not be going...
