I'm irritated. I ordered Their weekly special, a large specialty pie with bread sticks online. Was give about a 40 min wait. Sounded about right considering the time. I get there, say my name + 'online pick up'. A little bit of a blank look and checking of the tickets, checking the pies in the oven, they talk among themselves. I hear what I ordered so I know they're talking about mine. The only one that seems to care is the person that has to come back to me and say 'about 10 more minutes'. I don't believe them, but OK. I give them their space and wait outside. After at least 10 minutes but I think a little longer I check in. 'Almost done'. I go back outside. About 2 minutes later I get waved back inside. A pizza box get's moved from the counter, to the oven top, to the register, someone says something about breadsticks, and it gets moved back to the oven top. More back and forth, gathering stuff in a clamshell container, and they bring the pizza box back up with it. They say 'sorry about that'. I said 'OK' and leave. Obviously I'm hangry. My biggest fear is that they undercooked it or something else making it inedible to get it out to me ASAP. I open the box and it looks fine! I eat a couple slices and feel better. I can shrug stuff like this to an off night and wake up to a new day. I open the breadsticks and they're COLD. Not, no longer warm. COLD. It had been the last straw for a while. Good Luck with the Super Bowl tomorrow
EDIT: I felt I should come back a give a little context and constructive criticism instead of just my experience the other night. I've been a a long time customer of Lanesplitter's for as long as I can remember moving here. I've been going to the Emery shop since it opened. Every Friday for a long streak. Overall I've had a wonderful experience there. Even if it was great, it was understandable or an off interaction that didn't carry over to my next visit. I care about the place and want it to succeed. My experience the other night felt like what happens when the staff is only at their job and not working together. The parts of the conversations I overheard and the body language said 'not my fault, I'm not dealing with it'. In the past, when there was indoor seating (pre-pandemic), I saw the staff attentive, overlapping, communicating and covering each other. I've ordered and the slice burned, the kitchen tells the waitperson, the wait person tells me. It happens. I appreciated the heads up. The other night the person a the register was on an island to come up with something to tell me and hoped it would go ok. It's hard times and I allow for that in my review and criticism. My experience was preventable. I really do hope things get...
Read moreThe place feels run down and sketchy.
At 7 on a Saturday night there were only a couple tables with people eating at them, while 4 times as many folk were at the to-go counter. If they would bring your order to your table, I saw no sign of it. There was a loud TV playing some football game, no music. The corner door was locked shut. One bathroom was out of order and the other needs maintenance on the door and inside.
The place has the charm of a bus station.
We took our order to go.
The food was a disappointment. My pizza order was done wrong and included sausage, but i usually don't eat meat. Our other was a 4 cheese. Both pizzas were good. Don't order the onion rings, just don't. The cake was not worth the time. The (hot) brownie cookie was great.
So mixed bag on the food. Low points for service despite the friendly attitude And no points for the place itself. Zero.
This used to be a favorite for our family. A few years ago, I wrote this: This is one of those solid places with good food, service and beer. I don't even drink much beer, but I have no trouble getting beer drinkers to join me here. Note the back of the menu combos and specials. There is a beer and slice, two slices and a slice and...
Read moreSo I go in and order a slice of pepperoni which I don’t see anywhere . I assumed they had a pizza cooking which is perfect. But too perfect for this establishment . After ordering my pizza, this homeless guy comes in and ask for me to buy his. After politely declining and I wait for my order . Someone else comes in and decides to buy the guy a slice. At this point they want him out the establishment so they then serve him what looks like a pepperoni pizza that was supposed to be mines . So now I’m waiting longer and they have to create me a new slice which they no longer have pepperoni ready so they re warm up a cheese slice with pepperoni on top and a dash of mozzarella cheese. Which they then drop getting it out the oven. So then she decided to warm up another cheese slice with pep on top. I get home to undercooked pepperoni on an old cheese slice. They do this often but this is one thing I don’t get . To me now the pizza is altered. Too much cheese or a crazy amount of undercooked pepperoni that falls off as soon as you lift the pizza....
