PhoSho Dough did drop-off catering for our wedding in Mill Valley in July 2023 for the Vietnamese food portion of our meal and our families and friends LOVED the food! It was important for us to have the food at our wedding reflect our cultures while supporting local businesses, and to rep my culture, we were so happy to have PhoSho Dough cater the Vietnamese food. My sister and parents are serious about their food–as in they love food and know good food–and they 100% approved of all the food PhoSho catered: goi (salad), cha gio (egg rolls), and goi cuon (spring rolls)! My family approved of their sauces for the salad and spring rolls as well!
We had been to PhoSho for their banh mi and egg rolls a number of times before, so we already knew their food was delicious, legit, and personally me-approved. Their egg rolls are perfectly crispy and super generously sized–they are long like lumpias–and are made with chicken, which is healthier and more accommodating of dietary restrictions than pork, and it still tastes as if it were made with pork! They have many different kinds of banh mi, and I love that we can get authentic banh mi in Berkeley. Their vermicelli bowls are also very good and generous!
We were so honored to be their first wedding drop-off catering job and Richard was super communicative throughout the entire process. I think just making sure things are clear and aligned on both sides is helpful and good, like price, set-up, what will be provided, etc. Definitely keep in mind this is for drop-off catering, so no serving staff or anything. Would highly recommend PhoSho to do drop-off catering for any events, big and small! In addition to your regular order of course--PhoSho Dough is locally owned and run by a Vietnamese family and they serve up food made with heart and soul :)
For folks who are inexperienced with providing food for a big event like a wedding (like us!), have a plan for leftovers please to avoid wasting food, and especially since so many folks are food insecure—we were able to donate ours to a shelter! Other ways...
Read moreI was craving Vietnamese food and came across PhoSho Dough on Doordash. i was intrigued by their name and it had good reviews so i ordered and was very pleasantly surprised.
they pack the food expertly. it really does make a difference. they have it down to a science!
everything is on point but my favorites are the pho tai (they are so generous with the sliced raw beef i had to recheck my order to see if i had ordered extra meat - I hadn't!) . . . the broth is gorgeous! i also really love that you can customize your pho. . . you can add so many things, omit things, really make that bowl your own. it's amazing!
their bun is really, really good. noodles supple and separate, shrimp is plump and well cleaned and delicious.
the spring roll/eggroll mashup is really delicious. . .such a great idea! banh mi. . i mean dang. . SO GOOD!
i have ordered from there a dozen times since my first meal.
it's a tiny storefront space with limited outdoor tables. . .it's mainly a to-go establishment. . .they work really, really hard and it shows. . ....

Phosho Dough was so delicious and had the greatest value for price I've ever seen in East Bay for a Pho restauran (especially considering how expensive Berkeley and Oakland based restaurants can be).
It was so tasty and worth the trip that I'm literally sharing this review right as I finished my meal. It has the charm of being a local haunt as well as a restaurant I'd gladly make the drive for.
Phosho Dough doesn't skimp out on meat, noodles, or bowl size when you order their Pho, it was fantastic.
Cons
The only point of contention is the outdoor seating. Chairs and tables were a little sticky and rickety. There is no indoor seating, which is fine! If the outdoor seating was a little more comfortable then it would be perfect. The sidewalk that the tables are on has a somewhat steep slope for dining on, so it was a small bit...
