Long story short these people are selling terrible quality screens and they are often not open when google says they are.
First repair about a year ago. I didn't have any major drops - and the phone was in a good case with a screen protector at all times, but the screen separated from the base and started registering nonexistent touches.
Came Monday morning at 10:00 when they’re supposed to be open and they weren’t. Come back in the evening and got it repaired a second time ($80).
Three days later the screen stops working - stripes of dead pixels. Go in at 10:20, they’re not open. Go in during lunch break at 12:45. Not open. (Hours are 10am-7pm).
Come in after work at 6, and the guy starts by saying I must have dropped it. I did not. Then he shifts to saying I squeezed the screen with my case. The case was not tight at all. And by the way, if your screens break when you put them in a standard phone case, they aren’t functional screens. But obviously the screen was just defective.
To their credit they fixed it on the house. However, he accidentally told the truth and said “this time I gave you a high quality screen”. Indeed this screen had good looking colors, on the old one that broke the colors were all faded. So they’re selling super low quality screens and they know it - if you’re lucky it’ll separate after a year. If you’re unlucky it’ll break in 3 days. I strongly recommend nobody gets their phone fixed here (if you can even figure out what the hours are). I paid $160 and about two hours of my time to, hopefully, finally have a...
Read moreIt's hard to figure out what to rate these guys. My phone has now stopped registering the sim, rendering it useless as a phone, after Berkeley Phone repair fixed the screen. That being said, when they damaged a different internal component, they have fixed it. I assume the wiring was done poorly, and don't know whether I trust them to fix it again, or if I should take my phone to someone else.
Full story: I brought in my Samsung A73 with a broken screen, and they ordered a new screen and frame. In the process, the technician ruined a screw on the USB charger and told me I would have to come back once the replacement part (on the house) had arrived. The new screen was off-brand. Within hours, I noticed that the earpiece for phone calls wasn't working, and that night, the screen completely flipped out, registering touches everywhere, while being nonresponsive. Took it back in and they replaced it with a genuine Samsung screen. A month later the usb charger stops working suddenly. I take it back in and they fix that. A month later, the sim completely stops registering, possibly for related problems, or unrelated problems (the phone had a damaged screen for a few months before I took it to be fixed, so this could be...
Read moreThe glass covering the 1x camera lens on my iPhone 13 pro had cracked and left the lens exposed. I walked in to get a quote on how much the repair would cost since Apple had quoted me for $500 to repair the phone or trade in my current phone to replace the entire phone. I was so surprised when I was told by the employee here that the repair would only cost $49 ($55 with tax) and could be done in 20 minutes. He did a great job because my pictures are virtually back to normal. There is a minor reduction to the camera quality that could be contributed to how well the camera was cleaned prior to the installation...
