As a longtime Popeye's fan, I was extremely excited when this location opened up just around the corner from my house. Unfortunately, it is also the most poorly managed restaurant it has ever been my displeasure to experience. They are slow, rude, and have zero sense of urgency or caring for the customer. All of this clearly stems from management that is incapable and unqualified. I don't usually take this position, but whoever the current manager is should be fired and replaced. Of the 5 worst retail experiences I have experienced in my entire life, 3 have come from this business in the last two years. For some reason, I have continued to give them chances to improve, but they have not. No more.
It took over an hour (30 minutes in line, 30 minutes for food prep) to receive my mobile order on my last visit, and there were items missing and cold food. They automatically substituted items without checking to see if this was acceptable first. They make customers with mobile orders (even Doordash pickups!) stand in line with everyone else who is placing orders in person - I have NEVER seen that when placing orders online. There was only one employee at the front counter helping customers, and they were both taking and assembling orders, and in a couple of cases going back into the kitchen to fix issues. It was taking an average of 10 minutes just for them to acknowledge the next person in line. The manager was working the drive through window (WHY?!?!?) instead of leading the team, and looked like the proverbial deer in the headlights. All 7 of the other employees were basically milling around in the back moving as slowly as humanly possible. Complete incompetence, starting at the very top.
I will NEVER be back to this location, and I strongly recommend that you do not put yourself through this experience either. If you've absolutely got to have Popeye's, drive to the Antioch location on Lone Tree Drive instead - you'll actually end up saving yourself time compared waiting at the...
Read moreWent inside to order and waited 10 minutes without a greeting, with no one ahead of us to order. There were 5 people off to the side, 2 couples and an individual, who all said they had ordered 15-20 minutes ago, and we're "still waiting on food". There was chicken in the bins and fries being pulled but everything was going to the drive thru customers, even though that line was 12-13 cars long. All the employees were in the back kitchen area or working the drive thru. While waiting on anyone to approach the counter, one of the couples walked up and demanded a refund, stating they were not waiting any longer for their food. A woman employee came from the back area and provided the refund to them, while a young man employee stood and watched. Afterward, the young man approached the counter register, as if to take our order, but he actually never spoke...just stood at the register looking at us. I asked if it was going to take 20 minutes to get our food. He then, without a word, looked at the woman next to him, and she began berating him. She verbally abused him in front of us, then dismissively walked to the back area, complaining about the boy's lack of training and ignorance to the rest of the staff. She never offered to assist the customers, instead she came back out and told the customers inside, "he doesn't know what he's doing so that's why it's taking so long". We all stood out front, in shock at her behavior. My husband and I never ordered and took our leave, noticing the car line had only moved by 4 vehicles in 20 minutes. So, that meant, the other customers inside had waited nearly 35 minutes without getting food they had ordered and paid for over a half hour earlier. This was the absolute worst service, worst display of staff behavior and worst "fast food" establishment I've encountered...
Read moreThey are open for business! The website says open for dine-in, pick up inside, or drive-thru. However, dine in is not available!!!!! Anyway, we chose to order ahead and pick-up. When we arrived I went straight to the doors and it was opened. Of course my order wasn’t ready. So I had to wait. I saw a couple of things in the menu I hadn’t seen so I ordered a couple more things. What was odd about being inside the store was, I didn’t know I was allowed inside. One of the employees just went straight to the doors and locked it. So I was confused...
No one said anything to me of what was going on or anything. Once I received my order I asked the cashier if they were closing or if the dining area was closed. He said “oh no one is allowed inside but since you were inside I just took your order.” Ok that was nice of him but it would have been nice for them to just tell me what was going on. Instead there was a moment of awkward feeling.
Anyway, got the food it was nice and hot but was not fresh. Not only did I have to wait for the food it wasn’t even fresh. I ordered Apple Pies and Beignets (new) those were the best things in my food order. Sorry to disappoint all of you but I have no food pictures to share, they didn’t look good enough for photography.
Customer Service needs improvement no matter what the situation is. Need to communicate with customers. Otherwise there’s not much to say about this location except for just come to the drive-thru, service might be faster :).
Note: staff wore masks and gloves and hand sanitizer was available...
