I walk in Oakmont all the time and I've passed by Brr Kee's very many times. Today I finally stopped by and got myself some of their peanut butter yogurt (frozen yogurt). First off, it's important to remember they are cash only. As others noted, it's a bit of nuisance, but it's alright. The prices for the ice cream are fairly cheap. There's a great variety of options to choose from. You can get pints, quarts, and even 1/2 gallons of the daily flavors. One slightly annoying thing about the menu is the way in which it's presented outside the store. For instance, someone in my group wanted to get their sorbet bowl which was advertised right outside the store on a whiteboard. However, they told us they were out not only of the the sorbet bowl, but of all sorbet. It would be nice if they had erased the option once they ran out. I also couldn't find their yogurt flavor and only knew about it because of a post in their Facebook. However, I must say that the product is pretty tasty. It's not the best ice cream or frozen dessert I've ever had, but it satisfied me. It was packed to the brim! The texture was good for a frozen yogurt and the peanut butter flavor was great. However, I would have loved actual peanut butter ripples/streaks instead of just a peanut butter flavored yogurt base. All in all, I'm going to return, simply because it's nearby, has great variety, and the prices are reasonable. I hope they start erasing products they are out of from the whiteboard.

Flavors change often. I've come several times and always see something different. I personally love getting the Extreme, which is their version of a DQ blizzard. You can choose what base from any of the available flavors that day and add toppings!! Usually most places do vanilla as the base. Previously, I got an Extreme with a Butter Pecan base mixed with Oreo and cookie dough pieces. That was unusual and tasty, but I also highly recommend adding their new brownie cookie dough bites! That really adds something extra. Last time, I got an Extreme with vanilla ice cream mixed with Oreo, cookie dough, and brownie dough bites. Definitely yummy. Overall, I definitely keep coming back. Also it's cash only! But worth it.

Every time I visit family in Oakmont, we make several trips to Brr-Kee's. There are many reasons to love this place. The ice cream flavors are plentiful to choose from and excellent regarding temperature and taste. The sundaes and cones are always very good for the folks liking the normal portion sizes. For the professional ice cream connoisseur, you really should try the large banana split. You can have them swap the usual vanilla, chocolate, and strawberry flavors for any flavor of the day listed. Check out the picture of this bad boy. Takes me back to the tasty freezes of a bye gone era. Also, the fact that they are open year round is a huge bonus as many of us enjoy ice cream in the colder months.

Oct 3rd at approximately 6:50 pm My World got turned upside down while Patronizing this Establishment!

I ordered an ice cream Sundae an a Chocolate cookie sandwich to go!

Upon arrival 1of the Employees young Caucasian woman was outside of the Parlor starring at me while I was disengaging my vehicle to exit!

I found it invasive but paid it no mind, I then proceeded to the Parlor an noticed she Hurried to Parlor as well, but she went inside of it!

She was an Employee, this immediately heightened my awareness for sum strange reason, There was already another Caucasian Female working the Window!

So I normalized myself an waited patiently til it was my turn, The Parking lot Female then appeared at the other window an wanted to take my order, her greeting wasn’t a Welcoming 1, but hey it’s Only ice cream!

I proceeded with my Order very clear an exact yet She Snarling asked what did I want, An got it wrong twice intentionally with rudeness!

I knew to keep my eye on her at that point! She went got the Cookie Icecream which is already pre-made so no worries, but the Sundae had to be Prepared!

She an other the Female both went away from the window and began to discuss something and started laughing, like this was a Routine I’m a get em moment, the Hairs on my Neck stood up!

I was engaged on the Preparing of my delicacy! The Other female came back to the window on the left, which happened to be where the Other Female was behind her doing sum Additions to my Delight, I was peaking to see what stage she was on in preparing it!

They were still chattering, but in a suspicious manner, the Female at the Window begin to adjust her body so I couldn’t see anymore!

Then I knew I wasn’t eating it!

A crowd began to form behind me! So the other female appeared at that window with the Sundae and the Look she gave was like she was Successful in ruining my delight!

I said Mam, I appreciate you for making that, And I’ll pay for it, but I would like you to offer it to someone else behind me, (Whom all were Caucasian)

Her Face turned Beat Red an she declined to do it! I said it again, so everyone was aware of me Paying it fwd!

She declined again, discarded it while looking lifeless and just charged me for the cookie sandwich!

I walked away in discuss after paying and tipping, Knowing that I was Attacked just for being Black and Patronizing!

Next day and several days after, I repeatedly ask to speak to the owner, being questioned why, an I explained, I need to discuss my Experience on Oct 3rd at 6:50 pm. All the while I was asking for a number or an email of sort but no Avail!!

Please be Mindful, allowing Other People with Malice in their Hearts to Run your Establishment, they Will put an Unrepairable stain on your Business!

My Son reminded me of the time prior to that which was Early in the Summer of our encounter from an Adult Caucasian Women at this Parlor that had sum questionable characteristics!

So that was twice!

Note: I had been going there for years off an on with my children BUT...

A non corporate wonderful ice cream shop within walking distance of me is a dream :) not only is their ice cream ACTUALL ice cream, it's delicious to boot. They have a large selection of available flavors and a daily selection of specialty flavors. The menu is quite extensive so there is something for everyone at Brr-Kee's. (No sugar options, drinks, coffee, smoothies, yogurt) My go to is there chocolate malt (made with their chocolate ice cream instead of vanilla and syrup, this is KEY when ordering) and extra "malty junk" as I call it. The employees are happy to make you happy so don't forget the tip jar! It's right next to the window in plain view. Show a little love. I go there with my dog, and she's delighted to receive her "pup cup" everytime we go. Any business that appreciates and caters to my pup gets a big thumbs up and glowing review!! Try not to show up the last half hour before closing, this tends to be when they are their busiest. (Why???) You'll be waiting in line and I'm sure it's annoying to them. Happy ice cream day (everyday)...
