I’ve never eaten here and now I never will. After the extremely rude treatment and discrimination I received from the manger, I will not be caught dead eating their racist chicken salad. I was there to pick up an order, and should have known by the annoyed look I received when I walked in the door, that this was going to be a negative experience. The lady at the counter, who claimed to be the manager (but refused to tell me her name) asked me to confirm the pick up of the order in the app, which I did right in front of her. After showing her confirmation on my phone she looked at me for a long time and then said “no, that’s not the right screen” and refused to hand me the order. When I be came obviously upset she then said I was “being too aggressive” and asked me to leave. I was not aggressive in any other way other than asking repeatedly to hand my the food, or to get a manager on the phone or to the store to accommodate me, the customer. She then took the food and walked to the back and refused to come out. The other employees in the store would not speak to me, when I repeatedly asked for help, and repeatedly asked for a manager. I didn’t know at the time that the little girl who refused to give me the order, was the manager. It was only after I refused to leave that she came back out again and said she was the manager. Other customers in the store witnessed the mistreatment and discrimination and left with out ordering, after they had to speak up, on my behalf because they were trying to say they did give me the order and that I should just take my food and leave. Chicken Salad Chick at 4720 SW College Rd, Ocala, is the real deal, y’all! This place is like steppin’ onto your mama’s front porch—warm, welcomin’, and smellin’ like home-cooked comfort. The moment I strolled in, the staff greeted me like I was kin, all smiles and sweeter than a pitcher of sweet tea on a hot July day. The decor’s got that Southern charm, with cute little touches that make ya wanna kick back and stay a spell. I ordered the Fancy Nancy chicken salad, and lordy, mate, it’s a ripper! Them Fuji apples, grapes, and crunchy pecans mixed in with that creamy goodness had me grinnin’ like a possum eatin’ a sweet tater. I got it scooped on a bed of crisp lettuce with a side of their grape salad—fresh as a Gulf Coast breeze and just as refreshin’.

The menu’s got somethin’ for everyone, from classic Carol to spicy Kickin’ Kay Lynne if you’re feelin’ a bit bold. I snagged a croissant on the side, flakier than a Florida snowflake, and paired it with their peach iced tea—pure sunshine in a glass, y’all. Portions are generous, enough to fill ya up without needin’ a nap after, and the prices? Fair dinkum, won’t leave your wallet cryin’. The drive-thru’s a lifesaver for when you’re on the go, and the whole place is spick-and-span, like they’re expectin’ company any minute. Wow. I arrived to eat lunch with a friend this last Friday and I am amazed at the quality food, excellent customer service and pricing! I was despairing ever eating a meal under $12! From the moment that I ordered and had Melody as my cashier (whom checked on me frequently AFTER I got my order...as did most of the staff and, I believe, the manager) to the moment I left, this was amazing. I'm thinking that the staff got their training at Disney University? LOL I live in Crystal River but this place is WORTH my drive...especially since I frequent the nearby Regal theater. I had the Fancy Fran and I've had other chicken salads at other Chicken Salad Chicks so I LOVE this chain. Sweet BBQ Chicken Salad and Pimento Cheese. Works of culinary art. Delish! I love the grape salad too and there's lots of gluten-free options that I enjoyed. I had watermelon tea and that was outstanding too! BUT I haven't received the level of service that I've received before...NOT even at the 5 Star restaurants that I frequent. Everything was sparkling clean too as the staff clears while you are eating and they wipe off the tables after the customer leaves. REALLY impressed! GREAT job!
