New years eve ,eve, our party arrived five minutes before our 7:00 reservation, we waited about fifteen minutes, (no big deal) but we waited outside. The restaurant was about 60 degrees inside. Everywhere. We mentioned to our hostess that it was uncomfortably cold and while she agreed by telling us that the a/c was turned off but the 1:15 hour stay in the restaurant was just as cold as it was when we got there. Our server was pleasant, knowledgeable, and professional. We ordered Bang Bang Shrimp, which are always delicious, they were okay that night because, they were cold. We waited what seemed like a long time for that appetizer to arrive, and by the time they did, we didn't complain to our server because it was brought by a different person. The lobster bisque that was supposedly a special on the menu was ordered by two in our party and while warm didn't taste like lobster bisque but tomato bisque. While disappointed in the soup, the heat from it did tend to warm us up a bit. It is worth mentioning that while this was a Monday night before New Years Eve, the restaurant seemed to be about half full. Not prime time Saturday night when even the most competent waitstaff and kitchen would struggle to prepare and serve Properly cooked meals. I honestly can't say what caused our late arriving food and when it did it was in one case, underdone (pork Chop ordered Medium Well and while it looked great and tasted fine until) the two inch piece of meat near the rib bone was red. IMHO pork ordered medium well should not be served will any pink let alone red. I ordered the Mahi that came last, was over cooked and cold. The food for the most part tasted good, maybe the kitchen was so far away from the dining room that it just froze en-route. Our server several times stopped by to see how everything was and not wanting to delay our stay by sending food back we told her it was okay. We did tell her after we finished that we were disappointed in the cold lukewarm food she apologized and said, why didn't you let us know when it came out? We told her that we were all cold and didn't want to delay our stay by sending edible but cold food back. I think the server and the different people that actually bring the food could have done a better job of making sure that hot food comes to the table hot. She went to management and took $25.00, off the bill which was nice. I cannot point a finger at exactly why our evening at Bone Fish turned out the way it did, but maybe someone in a position of control should. Getting fast food from a burger joint that's gone room temperature sitting on a tray is one thing. A restaurant that appears to try to elevate the dining experience to the level that Bone Fish aspires to is another thing. Read moreI would like to explain why I have rated BoneFish Grill a 1 star. Even though the food was Good the service was so lacking it made for a bad experience. Let me explain: The hostess seated us without asking if we wanted a table or a booth. A table was desired for medical reasons, but we were guided to a booth. I had to ask for a change to a table. Immediately upon sitting our server came and asked if we had any questions about the menu which still laid on the table unopened. I said we have just sat down but like to order drinks. When the drinks arrived, he was confused on who got which drink, and in the end had totally missed 1 of the 4 drink orders. A few questions were asked about the menu selections, description of entree items and amount of flavoring added. The answers were vague, and we requested more help from the kitchen or management. When he returned with additional information it was still just as vague. When the appetizers arrived, no individual plates were delivered. After asking for plates, the hostess brought 4 plates and from one corner position at the table reached over our food and handed the plates to each guest. When our server returned for drink refills, the appetizer plates were not removed. And when the refill drinks arrived, we requested the appetizer plates be removed and the server responded he would be right back. Dinner arrived. The server set the dinners in front of each by pushing the empty appetizer plates aside. Dinners were served by reaching over the table from one corner of the table. We had to ask for the empty plates to be removed. At the end of our meal, our server was delivering our bill. I requested before I see a bill I would like to have the empty plates removed from the table, take home containers supplied, and requested to take our after-dinner drink order. To complete the entire scenario, the restaurant was only 35-30% occupied. This may all seem minor to some, but when spending $300-$400 for dinner at an upper-class establishment, one expects better service than a Culvers...
Read moreJuly 2025 Promptly seated. Waitress, Magen was very attentive, kindly sharing her smiles. Cocktails were delicious, Blueberry Lemon Drop, white wine.. Trout was cooked to perfection. They have COLD WATER LOBSTER TAILS back again. I was excited to see and tasted fabulous meals.. offered a free dessert for my birthday celebration. Strawberry Champagne Cheesecake. The manager stopped by to check that we were pleased with our service and food.. I'm looking forward to going for HAPPY HOUR SPECIALS. They looked delicious. Magen, you get all the stars in the sky, top notch server. Thanks for making our experience a wonderful one.. I appreciate you.
