Dairy Queen Grill & Chill — Restaurant in Ocean City

This bright, clean, new store is greatfully located within walking distance to our beach condo. It gets 5 stars for the following reasons:

1. ability to customize your order to the nth degree (in person and with the app). Don't want a bun, pickle or anything that is part of a standard sandwich? NO PROBLEM! If you're at the counter they actually ASK YOU or just check the box in the mobile app and your wish is granted!
2. ability to place an order with the app for pickup w/in 15mins; no ability to schedule pickup time just yet but not worth losing a star for that. My customized order was placed multiple times on the app without fail!
3. large variety of tasty, reasonablely priced food and dessert options. We appreciated the low sugar and the dairy free dilly bars from the self serve freezers. Also available are chocolate cherry, butterscotch, and mint regular dilly bars, as well as the ice cream cakes.
4. easy access whether you walk or drive (plenty of parking , outdoor seating - some with power stations at the tables, and drive through window)
5. and the store is open year round!

👉An electronic gift certificate was used during the first vist. NO PROBLEM! In general the place was found well staffed and the freezers were well stocked with a wide variety of desserts which is a big plus during the busy summer season.

About the mobile app: The store location is in the mobile app data base. Not all DQs are found there but that may be a function of the business model each DQ follows. The app platform is visually entertaining and easy to use. The menu categories and pricing are clear which makes ordering a no brainer. Your favorite order can be saved so you don't have to re-enter your choices, which is a time saver, especially when custom orders are the norm like mine. The deals and bonuses were properly applied to each order placed.

I just went in here for an ice cream cone. I watched the kid in the kitchen making the cones and he was touching everything in the kitchen and touching his pants and touching his hat. Then the kid in the kitchen making the cones, took his bare hand and put it into the chocolate sprinkles and put them all over my cone. There is zero need for that. You flop a cone down onto the chocolate sprinkles, then you roll it around and you use a spoon to spoon them over it. Nobody’s bare hands should be going into the chocolate sprinkle bin. Then the kid gave me a big attitude when I said I didn’t want it. Then, the girl at the register, bless her heart, asked me if I would like her to make it instead. I said, what’s the difference? He just had his hands digging around in the chocolate sprinkles. I said has he been doing that all day?. Probably, I said. So no, I want my money back. 🙄🙄 When all this was said and done, I guarantee you the manager who was on the phone so I can get my refund didn’t say anything to them about changing out the sprinkles either. Maybe I’m over exaggerating, but honestly, I did not like the cleanliness of the employees in this...

My friend and I recently went to this dairy queen after a movie like we do back home, and we were quite displeased. We were first in line with several people behind us and it was a very hot day. I ordered a cone and she ordered a blizzard which are two very easy things since she got a mini. My cone was sitting on the counter for 5-10 minutes and her blizzard was there for 5 minutes before the guy had given it to us. This was due to them waiting on drive through people first rather than customers who went inside. He didn’t even apologize for the wait or even acknowledge us waiting. The second i bit into my cone it was a gooey mess everywhere even in the store. My friends blizzard was also a huge mess and he barely flipped it. I would not recommend there’s so many other ice cream places to venture to. Dumser’s is the best if your looking for good...
