Starting off we had food crumbs left in our chairs and the table was still half ass wiped off with crumbs left on the table as well. The menus were stuck to the table bc it was still wet from them attempting to clean. We ordered our appetizer : crab stuffed mushrooms , that was the best part of our experience. The small plates for sharing came out with a good amount of food residue and sauce left on them. They had to be sent back. The steak special : steak and crab mac n cheese was Extremely Greasy and the only good thing about the dish was the steak which was slightly undercooked. Asked for medium it came out medium rare. You like your steak how you like it . I don’t like mine medium rare. Wife got the calamari starter after she didn’t like the salad she had . So that came out and that was just bland as bland can get . No flavor but the flavor of the grease it was fried in. Horrible we ate 2 bites and left the rest . Also the servers got our tables mixed up as well and brought out our food to another table close by and there food to our table. He even sat it down , I was like that’s not ours thanks but no thanks. We are visiting family from St. Louis and we had some family and even some strangers we met at The Toasted Yolk that morning recommend this place. They said this place was good. I’d stay away. We don’t mind dropping 100- 300 for really good food and service but this was not that at all. The ambience on the inside was extremely loud . We don’t mind it getting busy loud but this place was overly loud with the people inside. Overall we will find somewhere else to go next time we...
Read moreNot the best of experiences. First off, the place is pretty cool. Great vibe, deco is spot on. If you want to go for drinks, go for it. For the food, we ordered the mozzarella logs which were huge. Great value for the price. We also ordered the Bread and Butter sour dough. I'd skip this one next time. 3 pieces of bread that was way too hard and way too much money. My son ordered the pepperoni flat bread. This was a hit. Try this one if you visit. My wife ordered the chicken parm po'boy. She didn't complain and that says this one is worth trying. For me, I ordered the chicken parm plate and I was not impressed at all with the taste. Frankly, the marinara tasted like a bland tomato with pasta. Really, I had to struggle to get some sort of taste. Luckily there were basil strands added for garnish and I used that for taste. I will say the portion is huge, so the value for the portion is excellent. I'll skip this one if we go back. Now, for the driver of the "3". I really get frustrated when I go to a restaurant and I or my family have to continuously bat away flies. I can see having to do it if I'm eating outside, but this is not an outside dining experience. Will we go back, probably in a month or two. I'll get the flat bread. Do I recommend it, no, not as a...
Read moreWent this past weekend. Everyone in our party of 5 were very impressed with the food. Flatbread appetizer was an excellent starter. The spicy ricotta a la vodka was to die for. I was so impressed, I took my partner back for his birthday yesterday. He happens to be Italian and an excellent cook! I ordered the eggplant parmigiana with great expectations. I greated the waitress with a "WOW!" when I saw the beautiful piled high plate of eggplant parm on top of spaghetti, great presentation. My excitement didn't last long as I dug into my meal. I was so disappointed! What ever possessed a chef to try baking a 1 1/2" thick chunk ( it didn't qualify as a slice) of eggplant. Parts were properly cooked while other parts were under cooked, as would be expected with such a thick piece of eggplant. If the eggplant had been good, I would have overlooked how overcooked the pasta was, not to mention the flavor of the sauce was lacking (I may just be spoiled on that count). So it comes down to determining which dishes are worthy and which aren't. We will definitely be going back. I'm thinking an appetizer, house salad (It's impressive),...
