Val's Sports Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Ocean Springs

So I am updating my review. Since February of this year my friends and I have been going to Val's for a dart tournament on Thursday nights. We have had 3 instances were the owner Mike either took advantage of one of my friends because she was drugged or didn't take care of a situation that should not have escalated to where my other friend's husband had to be called before he finally kicked out the person causing a commotion because he wanted to get married to my friend who was already married. The last instance were the police were called because my friend asked a group of people to lower their voices because my friends couldn't hold a normal conversation but had to use their phone to text each other in order to talk to each other. When my friend asked for the other group to calm down, a person from that group came over and hit my friend in the back of the head and the group started to gather around my friends. I should not have had to go running out to help break up the situation. I must also add that my friend also had her son along with my daughter there when this last instance happened. This is supposed to be a family bar and grill but it can't if the owner doesn't have the balls to protect his patrons that show up on a regular basis. My friends and I refuse to go back here until either Val takes it back over or he finally brings the bar and grill back to the way it was when his mom...

This place is really bad. I popped in for a quick beer and maybe something to eat. The place was busy so I waited. But even though the place was busy the bartender was not hustling. He was just standing around talking. So after a while we left. But I wanted to be fair so the next evening we went back. This time they were not busy so I thought ok maybe this time we will get better service. It was not much better but we decided we would get one drink and order a couple of burgers to go. So we did. The place we were staying was right across the street. So we took our food and left. The burgers were Burnt charcoal black. I mean burnt really bad. The fries were limp. The only way I know of to get fries to go limp like that is to microwave them. So if you want way Overpriced Burnt burgers and microwaved fries then this is the place for you. But Do yourself a favor. There are many other places in Ocean Springs to get a drink and a meal....

Great place to watch The Pittsburgh Steelers but service is very slow with bartenders and servers. If your not concerned how long it takes to get a drink or food then you may like this place. I only go because they have all Steelers games. Update: 8 Sept 19, I was there yesterday for the Steeler game. Again, this has to have the worst service on the coast. They had 3 bartenders and only 1 seemed to be working with any purpose. I ordered food and it was not hard, fries and chicken tenders. The fries came out like noodles. I ask for them extra crispy. The bartender ordered me more trying to make it right. The owner's son was outside complaining loudly to a group of people about someone inside complaining. Not good for business. When you order a drink the bartender makes it then on her way to deliver it to you she stops for a conversation with someone. While your drink gets warm. They need a bar manager there that knows what...
