My wife and I have lived in New York for 30 years and Arizona for 10 years, so weâve had our fair share of amazing Indian food. Since moving to the Gulf Coast, weâve been searching for a spot that rivals what weâve experienced in those places. Highway to India in Ocean Springs exceeded all our expectations and could easily compete with the best restaurants weâve visited in New York or Arizona.
Hereâs what we tried: ⢠Veggie Samosas: Crispy and flavorfulâperfectly done. ⢠Honey Cauliflower: We were looking for Gobi Manchurian and were told this was even better. They were right! â˘. Lemon Rice: A hit with our picky eaters. â˘. Vegetable Korma, Sag Paneer, Aloo Gobi, and Vegetable Vindaloo: The flavors were spot-on, and the vindaloo had just the right level of spice I love. â˘. Mango Lassi: Always a family favorite, and this one didnât disappoint.
The food was fresh, perfectly spiced (customizable to suit everyoneâs preferences), and the portions were generous. We left with leftovers, which was a bonus.
The service stood out as much as the food. The person who served us was also one of the chefs. He took the time to customize spice levels to suit my wife and daughterâs tastes while ensuring I got the heat I wanted. He was knowledgeable, friendly, and attentive.
The ambiance was clean and invitingâa great place for both families and couples. Weâre already planning to return for a date night (without the kids!).
If youâre vegan or vegetarian, youâll have plenty of options. I highly recommend the Veggie Samosas and Honey Cauliflower for first-time visitors.
Highway to India is reasonably priced, especially given the exceptional quality of the food and service. Weâve found our go-to Indian spot on the Gulf Coast. Highly recommend it to anyone looking for authentic, delicious...
Read moreTried this place based off FB recommendations and what a delight. We enjoyed every dish we ordered. I'd have to say it was the best Indian food I've had, and I usually try it when I visit big cities. I had a feeling it would be good from the smells in the parking lot. We arrived when they reopened for dinner at 4:30pm and the Chef greeted us and gave recommendations. Wanting to gage the food by seeing how well they made our favorites, we didn't go with his rec's but I promise to return to try what he suggested. Everything was so flavorful and balanced. The textures were on point. I could've drank the green chutney dipping sauce that came with most things. If you love rice, the lemon rice is lemony with little spice bits, texture like rice pilaf. It came with our dishes. The Naan is separate but he has several flavors to choose from. We got the garlic Naan that served as a nice eating vessel for my lamb kebab. Do not prejudge based on the budget decor because the food quality, friendly service, and fair prices make up for fancy esthetics! I WILL be back very soon, and on a...
