Edit: We have pics eating here which I shared now😉 under pics — since the owners response to my review was that I was trolling …….. instead of having good customer service , and taking responsibility. Side note: it take a pretty bad experience for me to have to leave a review like this. It’s unfortunate that they didn’t respond kindly — and just say ‘Hey, we’re sorry about your experience we will work on it.’ I have no Bad intent— just don’t want anyone paying for a 100$ meal for 2 people for sub-par service, food and cleanliness. I REALLY wanted this to be the great experience we had heard about from all of our local friends. My husband is on the Airforce base here and we couldn’t WAIT to try this place!! The pictures looked appealing- but the experience and food just was not. I’m sorry! And that’s okay, I’m entitled to share OUR (my husband and I’s experience.) I shared not only the bad- but the GOOD as well, please do better @ owner. To the owner: 1. The customer is always right. 2. You look bad responding to reviews as you did mine. An that will tell people all they need to know about your business. 😉 3. You don’t get to dictate someone’s experience at your restaurant. This isn’t your first low/bad review- and it won’t be your last. Truth stings sometimes , an it can be embarrassing- but it also can help if you can take constructive criticism. (u have quite a few 1star reviews that had similar experiences to mine that I’m seeing now, and you didn’t accuse them of trolling ?? That’s odd..) 3. Since you think this was a ‘troll’ review- I uploaded some pics from our evening. 🙂☺️ 4. You will get much farther with responses of wanting to improve your business than defending it, you missed the mark with us- that’s okay, but don’t invalidate peoples experiences at your business especially when we spent the money that we spent. Now not only have we had a terrible experience in your establishment, but now a negative experience with YOU the owner online. That’s really just unacceptable- 🤷🏼♀️ and shows your lack of empathy and or care for what PAYING customers think/experienced. I hope this review helps give you some insight and that your responses are more thought out next time. Especially on a platform that has the potential to BOOST your clientele base just by seeing your responses. When people see you care, they see the effort & customer service that was provided to give your restaurant a try or another shot. I wish you well, but this had to be said. 👌🏼 We will take our money elsewhere.
The crawfish dip was literally thick- unmelted queso— with hardly any crawfish. And the platters were AWFUL. We heard good things and wanted to eat here, but when I tell u these crawfish were all SOFT because they were old— it just wasn’t worth what they are charging. And my shrimp the same way… it just fell apart trying to peel it— not to mention I found a hair in my food and the waitress just didn’t seem to care much… granted, they were short staffed which our waiter shared with us— but I was done after that… the atmosphere is GREAT, staff was so kind besides our waiter, but other than having a drink here I wouldn’t eat here. Not to mention the bathroom was FILTHY! And there was no soap in there….( So how are employees washing their hands lol? That’s just me being me though/ I’m a germ 🦠 freak.) lol… it was empty in both restrooms.. 🚽 my husband switched me bathrooms because he saw how dirty it was when I walked in- so he let me go to the “cleaner” one of the two they have…..But the vibe was great— I would come here to just drink! Love the outdoor/indoor setting. The weather was perfect for it. I’m all about a restaurant that...
Read moreHello. I highly recommend this restaurant, and encourage you to try them out if at all unsure. In this review of The Crawfish House, I discuss the following in further detail: value, quality, service, and establishment. Thank you.
Value: I ordered the boiled shrimp and crawfish platter along with the alligator po boy. I was a bit disapponted by the high pricing ($18 and 12, respectively), but given the atmosphere and amenities, thought it was fair. However, I really underestimated the amount of food included with the entrees. The pricing is great, and they give a ton of food.
Quality: There was not one single part of this meal that I did not thoroughly enjoy. The platter was full and enticing. The crawfish and shrimp were both delicious. They had a slight kick to them, and were very flavorful. The crawfish should be boiled with more salt, but that is an easy fix at-table. The butter and tartar sauces were both great and plenty. The real treat, to my surprise, was the potatoes; the boiled potatoes were SO good. So surprising. I asked and they said they boil them in the water from the crawfish boil. 10/10. The corn and fries are also fantastic. The corn should be cooked a bit less, but hey we came in late at night. The sausage was bombin' too.
The draft selection is good (1/2 domestic, 1/2 craft), with fair prices. I prefer glass cups; but plastic is good for the establishment's environment, so it's understandable.
Service: Everyone I spoke with was nice and friendly. Our waitress gladly seated us despite our arrival at 9:20 (close at 10). She made sure we were all good throughout the meal.
Establishment: Fantastic aesthetic. Really well done, with visible care taken in the design and construction of everything, which belies its age. The original building is 30+ years old, but since there has been continuous expansion of the business, it looks practically new. Very clean. I do wish they had a sink for handwashing other than the one in the restroom, though. They have indoor and outdoor seating areas and bars, but really it's just a big outdoor area. Really good design. Corn hole included, and nice TVs everywhere. Very...
Read moreOn a whim we decided to eat here because the reviews were overall good. However, our experience with service and food were just not good. My husband and son ordered crawfish, I ordered the seafood platter and my daughter the chicken sandwich. After a few minutes the waitress came back to say they were out of chicken so she switched it to the crab burger. It felt like it was taking a while for food to come out but eventually my daughters sandwich came out first. After about 20 minutes my platter came out and so did the crawfish. Of course by now my daughter was completely done eating. Then another waiter brought me another platter but since I already had mine i told him there must be a mistake. My food was cold, I should have taken that second platter and returned the first. The crawfish was nasty, so salty and so spicy it burns your lips. And they were over cooked. For service, I might just be picky here but I appreciate a waitress that will actually look at me and not just my husband. When we told her the crawfish was just not good and couldn’t eat it she offered to get us something else. My husband and son were just ready to go so they declined. After she handed my husband my card to sign (bc she just didn’t want to hand it to me I guess) she then tells us she could have taken the order off since we didn’t like it. She should have been clear on that before she ran my card. And the she proceeded to get handsy with my husband. We paid and left. We will never come back...
