Grossman's Deli & Grill — Restaurant in Ocean Township

Tried Grossman’s for the first time today at the recommendation of Susie and I’m so glad I did. I had the best corned beef sandwich I’ve had in a long longggg time. It’s on the level of Katz’ deli, if not better than, and I’m 100% going back. The only complaint I have is the customer service of the girl in the front is serious lacking. I thought she wasn’t wearing pants because her shorts were so short and maybe it’s just me, but unless I’m somewhere on the boardwalk, I don’t want to be served by someone wearing no pants. She also was condescending toward my business being there. Like I felt like she couldn’t be bothered. Oh, and her hair was very long and whipping all over the place which didn’t seem hygienic. I hope someone teaches her how to be a proper face for her place of work and to act and dress more professionally. It’d be a shame for a place with such GREAT FOOD to have someone not doing it...

Our first time trying Grossman's Deli in Oakhurst, a week ago: Excellent! We had a Sloppy Joe and The Big One, with a side of potato salad. The sandwiches were perfect. The corned beef on The Big One was just right, juicy but not fatty. The Sloppy Joe, -- the corned beef and turkey - also perfect. And the potato salad was delicious, a nice blend of mayo base with a touch of tanginess to it. Even the pickles were right on the mark. We ordered To Go, and we also brought home 4 hard rolls, which were fresh and very tasty. (There is a dining area if you want to eat on site.) Last but not least: the staff were VERY nice. I stopped into Grossman’s for the first time today (6/15/24) after reading so many positive reviews. The staff was friendly and the service was fast. As for the food, I ordered a chicken gyro. I was honestly underwhelmed by it. The ingredients were fresh, however the chicken itself was rather bland and on the dry side. I know most people visit a particular restaurant and order what they’re known for but I was in the mood for a gyro although it probably wasn’t the best choice. With that being said I will surely be back to try their corned beef...
