Posillipo Italian Restaurant & Bar — Restaurant in Ocean Township

We went there for a very special celebration on a Thursday night, which there weren't many tables filled at all. Nice setting and initially service was pretty good. However, it subsequently became horrible! My son asked for oil and cheese for our bread and they never brought it - Our meals arrived sporadically then it was ages before someone came around to check - when I told them things were terrible they scurried off and no one came near us again for almost a 1/2 hour and it was with the check! My daughter and I found our meals (flounder and red snapper ) dry, tasteless and inedible with absolutely no flavor whatsoever. The owner came over to collect our credit card and when I asked her why my "sautéed" spinach tasted like it was just thrown in boiled water and plopped on the plate all mushy, she told me that people don't like garlic, oil and salt and if I wanted it that way I should have asked???? Never in my life would I imagine an Italian restaurant would require you to ask for "flavor"! My dinner had only 1 small bite out of it, and my daughter barely touched hers at all... She asked if we wanted boxes?! I told her to take it off bill - my plate was immediately snatched from table and they came back with a box for my daughter's. No apology, No offer to try and make things right... We paid the bill, and again No one came near our table!!! My family and I were very disappointed with our experience here. Our server vanished after she took our order and when she was there she was very cold and appeared as if she didn't want to serve us. My parents ordered from the set menu where the appetizers were really good which gave us high expectations for our entrees. I ordered the shrimp fra diavolo which should be some what of a hearty marinara sauce with a nice spice, but what I got was a watered down plate of pasta and sauce. My sister ordered the fettuccine Alfredo which was literally appeared to be a bowl of heavy cream. My mom ordered the shrimp francese which was extremely under cooked. Finally my dad ordered the sirloin which he enjoyed but was upset that his steak which cost $30 only included 5 pieces of veggies. Needless to say we will never be going back. And would...

NOT GOOD! We made reservations on Facebook that were confirmed And yet when we got there they had no record of it. We did get seated right away but waited almost 30 minutes before anybody came over and even brought us water! We had to ask the waitress if there were any specials of the day and she briefly mentioned the title of each dish without any description. She seemed quite disinterested.
