As promised.
We made a reservation using the open table app for two people at 6:15 PM. We arrived 10 minutes before our reservation time and we’re told that they did not have our table nor would they have our table due to an overbooking and blamed everything on the open table system. My question for the staff was why they never bothered to call us and tell us they were overbooked, or why they didn’t simply cancel the reservation. They didn’t have answer. Our options were to wait over an hour for a table, or we could sit at a there is those two I was just a little chilly so I came over and sat in the sun bar, staring at a coffee machine. We chose to stay. 20 minutes later, another party of two in the same situation as ours arrived and they seated them in an actual table after a 15 minute wait.
We ordered jumbo buffalo wings for an appetizer. JUMBO is an outright lie. These were the smallest wings I’ve ever had in my life. They were very crispy and the sauce was great but THE WORD JUMBO was misleading when you’re expecting big wings.
My salad arrived at the same time as my main meal. I didn’t end up eating it because the main dish would have gotten cold. I had specifically asked that it come ahead of time.
My meal was the seafood risotto which was supposed to include scallops, lump crab, shrimp, and bacon. While the risotto overall was very delicious, I could not find any lump crab at all. The scallops were the size of the smallest segment of my pinky finger. To be fair, the shrimp were absolutely amazing and were very large; hands down the star of the dish.
For our troubles, we were offered a 10% discount which equates to taking the side salad off the bill. This place is charging premium prices for food and service that is...
Read moreI tell you. I've lived in this town for many years. 45 to be exact. I remember when I used to cook at ocean view deli. And it's been some countless years. I have to admit that I've avoided the place only because I don't know I'm a local like that, but I have to say. I heard it when under new ownership. So I said, what the hell? I have to give it a try. And I have to say I love the décor the service was impeccable. The pancakes with the same will be different than everyone else's thin and crispy. What can I say? The food has improved and you have to catch it at the right time. In between church and the busy times so if you see an empty parking lot, that's what you need to sneak in otherwise you need to wait, but it is definitely worth the way I love their biscuits. They're almost our great. The coffee is still on point. I'm glad. I took a break and now I got to revisit the place. So I encourage you to take part in a great local eatery and enjoy ocean view and enjoy the people and the atmosphere of one of our staples here. Irem, Baja and Chevy, I hope I got there names right made me feel at home. My A cream chip beef was not as hot as I wanted, but guess what? A boy, George and the fact to care that real quick. I have to say their biscuits are very good. And if you get the hash Browns, you need to ask for onions. Cause that's the way to now. Take your mind if you like fluffy pancakes. This is not where you want to go. You're like that thin crispy pancake? It's worth it at they're still using good Milton sausage which is nice and local, and their coffee is still that amazing coffee that's been there for...
Read moreI have been to this restaurant so many times. Today I finally decided to try it after the new management took over. We showed up to a empty parking lot, first red flag. After my experience today I will never be back. There was lipstick on my coffee cup, I ordered rye bread, they gave me white toast with a disgusting butter/margarine? When I said I ordered rye toast he said I thought I ordered dry toast, never heard of that but it must be toast without butter? I said whatever and decided to just eat and go. The potatoes weren't fully cooked, whatever. The corn beef looked like it sat around for days it was horrible, thats when I got upset. I used to go to this restaurant just for the corn beef and hash. I told the waiter the meal was horrible, he said he would tell the "chef" I said don't bother I will never be back. Calling anyone there a chef is insulting to people that were trained professionally to cook, or apprenticed. I was charged full price for something I couldn't stomach.
I went home to make breakfast for me and my girlfriend, that isn't a joke. Its upsetting that the new owner is living off of former reviews from the previous owners, misleading customers. If they are proud of the way they run this...
