Crumbl Cookies has made its way to Oceanside California. Located in the Mission Marketplace on Oceanside Blvd., this franchise has spread all over the country, pleasing many cookie lovers in their wake.
While I’m not exactly a “sweets” lover entirely, I can definitely appreciate a good cookie. This was also my first time experiencing this brand of cookies.
This new location is starting off showcasing 6 flavors, of which I tried their Birthday Cake, Cinnamon French Toast, Chocolate Chip, Chocolate Peanut-Butter and Neapolitan.
What I loved the most about their cookies is that they were all thick & soft and almost “doughy”. They weren’t super-moist and would often “crumble” upon biting into them; hence their name?
My favorites were the chocolate-chip (reliably safe), Cinnamon French Toast (childhood favorite) and the Chocolate Peanut-Butter (was mostly peanut-butter forward).
The service was good, fast and friendly. They also allow for Pre-Ordering with Priority Parking in front.
I highly recommend downloading their app in advance to order and also you’ll get a FREE COOKIE upon showing on your phone.
One thing that disappointed me is that they don’t have any vegan or gluten-free options available and I’m unsure if they ever will.
Overall, this place is made for those who like sweets and don’t mind paying for them. At nearly $4 a cookie, it’s not a place for your “typical trips” and I would only come here to indulge when I want something special. But I recommend trying them at least once just to experience...
Read moreFirst off, I do not like the idea of ordering/purchasing of a tablet with no human interaction. I know this is the way it is nowadays, but it seems like people don't want to converse anymore. The only job that people have here is to make/bake cookies and pack them in boxes. Secondly, please hire people that are COMPETENT. I asked one worker how big the cookies were and they had no idea. How do you not know how big the cookies are when you are making them? After downloading an app to place an order, it even says how big the cookies are. I asked about placing a catering order of 120 mini cookies and what kinds of cookies I can select. The worker said it's best to place the order 2 days before to see what cookies I can select. So I go to place the order 2 days before I needed the cookies, I couldn't select some cookies because 3 days is needed. Again, need people that work there that are COMPETENT. So I placed the order and reconfirmed the night before that they received the order and it will be ready at the pickup time. Come the day of pickup I walk in and the worker just tells me that they mistakely made 120 reg cookies instead of 120 mini cookies and it will take another hour to make it since they JUST discovered the mistake 15 min before pickup time. Okay, your store opens at 8am and 2 hrs later you just realized you made the wrong size cookies? Again, HIRE COMPETENT EMPLOYEES!!! I am giving this location 1 star for the employees that work here and an addl star for the...
Read moreThese two middle ones were supposed to be oatmeal skillet cookies. They were supposed to have the vanilla buttercream and caramel drizzle.
On my order, I had two churro cookies as well, but after paying, I was informed they didn't have any more. So I had to choose others.
So their menu wasn't accurate, the oatmeal skillet cookies were nothing like what is advertised online, on their menu, and in their example cookies.
I'm so disappointed. This is the worst experience. I would not recommend this place to anyone.
Update 12/9/2024:
Management reached out and refunded the order. They wanted to ensure our experience was right and that we had another chance to try them. I greatly appreciate any company that tries to improve and fix the situation. I wasn't expecting a refund, but I respect their willingness to make it better.
As such, I've given them another try today so we shall see how this new order turns out!
Second update: The eggnog Tres leches is nowhere near as moist as last year. The hallmark of a Tres leches cake is that it's an egg-based cake the absorbs quite a bit of liquid, and has some leftover. The one I received today was just as moist as every cake option Crumbl has had, but no more and not like a Tres leches cake at all. Once you get that out of your head, it's a decent cake. We've also got a raspberry butter cake cookie, and a cinnamon crunch cookie, as well as a second Tres leches. Hopefully the other two live up to their hype. Still, the eggnog cake is a...
