Tony Pepperoni — Restaurant in Oceanside

WOW.. I have NEVER had an experience as upsetting as I did at this subpar pizza joint. I ordered the following: mozzarella sticks, a turkey sub, and an antipasto salad, sounds simple, right? The turkey sub was way over-baked, the mozzarella sticks were SO overly-fried that it was simply alarming, and the salad was NOT an antipasto salad, it was iceberg lettuce with 3 pepperoni, approximately FOUR WHOLE tomatoes diced up, and a handful of shredded pizza cheese thrown on top .... are you kidding me? I specifically asked if the antipasto salad was a 'real' antipasto, or just iceberg lettuce with chinsey pizza toppings added. I was told that it was a real antipasto salad... as in rolled salami and mozzarella. Okay, so the food was crap, not the biggest deal, right?

Here's where it gets upsetting. I called the owner Joe and politely told him that the food was subpar, and asked him to send the driver to come pick it up. At this point the OWNER of the restaurant began to disrespectfully yell at me that and this is a direct quote "This is how I do it here". So, I guess from the owners mouth directly ... they serve low grade dog food at toni pepperoni, and the owner is some east coast maniac who treats customers the same way he serves his food... like total crap. The yelling at a customer coming from the owner himself speaks VOLUMES about this establishment.

This is the absolute WORST experience I have ever had and I have never written a yelp review in my life (negative or positive), but the owner Joes behavior is absolutely unacceptable. This is a place ive come to on a regular basis, i will no longer come here after today. The customer service i received today was absolutely BS! I placed my order for 2 sandwiched and wings as an appetizer. After 30 long minutes waiting for my food two different families received theyre food who ordered after me. Tell me why on earth would 2 different pizzas be faster than wings and 2 sandwiches. Once i saw this i spoke to a short blonde girl asking for her to refund the wings since they obviously werent coming out, and then all of a sudden she grabbed them off of the oven and said theyre already made and cant give me a refund. She then proceeded to ask me if i want it to go and i said yes because i no longer wanted to be in the building with the crappy service i was receiving. I sat back down waiting for her to make my order to go. Another 10 minutes went by and i went up to her again and asked her how long is it going to be and she asked me if the wings were the only thing i ordered. I said no i had 2 sandwiches as well, she didnt even know what my order was and my food had been sitting there getting cold. I asked again for a refund but for the whole order this time because my food had been sitting there and she said i couldn't get one because it was already made. She then threw it in a bag and rudely tossed it to me. Ive spent 40 dollars on food that wasnt made when it was suppose to and was sitting out getting gross. Ive spent hundreds of dollars here on a regular basis. I will not tolerate this kind of service i received today. I will be going else where. I usually get treated well here, so this review is specific to the bartender on September 29th. I was there from 5:15-5:45

So I walk in ON TIME for happy hour. I literally spend 15 minutes waiting to be served at the bar while the bartender plays with the TVs to find a football game. She was completely aware that I was sitting there waiting empty handed. We made eye contact on multiple occasions. She was more focused on her customer who had apparently been giving her a hard time changing the channels.

She eventually figures out the TV system and gets my beer…. Joking how I’ve been patiently waiting. Okay… big laughs, haha. whatever.

The reason for my review is that I asked for the bill and got charged full price.

If you are tending a bar, be aware. Treat your regulars like you should. Don’t keep people waiting on silly things like this situation. It irked me. This is a 5 star place. Everyone else is super cool. One bad apple can ruin the reputation of a business. This one left a bad taste in my mouth. Just had to vent. Hopefully she reads this and does better. Hopefully manager reads this and hashes out some much needed training. HOPEFULLY I GET MY QUICK DRINK NEXT TKME AND WE CAN ALL LIVE HAPPILY EVER AFTER.
