La Familia Callejas mexican food — Restaurant in Oceanside

Apparently you have to have a facebook and be on the in to get taco Tuesday specials. I’ve been there a couple of times, and was never mentioned that to me until now. After the cashier was ringing me up, I mentioned taco Tuesday and her was response was you have to mention it before ordering it. She also said that she doesn’t recognize me so apparently I wasn’t fit. Pretty discouraging to continue going there. Especially when you’re feeling judged for not looking Hispanic but you are and know fluent Spanish and are Mexican 😂. They even have a sign for Taco Tuesday outside of their restaurant. I hate to leave this type of review for a place I have enjoyed, but this was just ridiculous. After going back upset to get a refund, the cashier got her boss and he did not even bother talking to me....

Kept popping up on my Facebook so i thought I'd go check it out. Man. I had high hopes reading the reviews. But I will not be returning. Nothing against the restaurant. As i love supporting small businesses. Especially Latino. The food had no flavor. I ordered the pound of barbacoa, ordered the consomé cus it doesn't come with. Niether had flavor. Asked the guy taking our order for two plates as the order comes on a little grill and he never brought the plates. The floors were all stiky. And this was at noon. Had a wierd smell in the place. Can't describe. Anyway theres also a sign that prices are subject to change on Fridays i guess just because there's a band...?...

I don’t know if it’s legal to charge for alcohol more on weekends and if just because it’s hand written on a poster board it’s ok. We were a party of 6 and got a buckets of 6 beers and one extra I was charged $78 dollars!!! Because the charge for a party of 6 or larger. We didn’t order food.., really $10 extra for 6 people getting a simple bucket of beers. That’s ridiculous. I was stupid for paying it, but I honestly didn’t want to act inappropriate and them saying I was just a drunk. Music is decent but ask for the real prices before ordering. I didn’t read the signs outside thinking they’re advertising food. Who really reads ALL those signs. They need to rethink...
