I tried this place based on reviews. I ordered the green enchiladas plate. When I tell you that I actually couldn’t stomach the meal. It was below ⬇️ standard. Here is why… I personally love some good refried beans. Not from a can! And these are canned beans. But I could stomach those. Hell I like A good Taco Bell about twice a year. I’m not dogging Taco Bell I just don’t eat fast food often. The beans obviously got mixed up with some sort of EXTREMELY fish taste of something. I like fish but not like raw pungent fish water from like a cutting board. And aside from that they could have used a better canned product. Next, the iceberg salad was drenched in water at the bottom like they had just washed it in the same water as the fish bowl. Apparently there was some hardcore cross contamination in the kitchen. It had a glob of ranch dressing. Thick half tomato on top so they got real fancy. Mind you this salad was served touching my beans with the water running into my beans. The enchiladas (sigh) the chicken is side was in BIG chunks and very dry with a little Paprika for looks. When you get chunks of chicken in enchiladas it doesn’t go over as well as some nice shredded chicken so you can taste the tortilla, sauce and sour cream. NOT HERE. I had 4 bites and washed it down with water.
My husband had carnitas plate. They had bacon and some sort of smoke rub on the meat. Every bite had jelly like fat and they were room temperature. This would have been an okay pulled pork sandwich meat MINUS the bacon and fat with some BBQ sauce. I think the 5 star reviews came from people who are employed here from out of state and give the reviews. Because it’s super hard to get good Mexican food outside of southern Ca. So they have no idea. They just love the pounding DJ, top 50 hits in the background as they keep throwing them back🍺 and just so you know I told our waiter about the fishy taste and nothing was offered. So just to save you- drive down the street to good ole Anita’s YOU WONT BE...
Read moreSometimes it may seem like Oceanside is lacking in establishments that offer some nightlife entertainment options.
Introducing EVAGA LOUNGE. Opened in 2023, Evaga is Oceanside’s premier tequila lounge that serves up some of the best quality Mexican dishes & tequila just east of the 5 Hwy.
Located on Oceanside Blvd, just east of Frazier Farms and in the Dunkin Donuts parking lot, Evaga Lounge features live music & DJs, club-style lighting, a dance floor and some truly delicious food & drinks.
Although many consider this area to be "sketchy", there have been more businesses opening up in this area and it is developing fast. There is also a huge apartment complex being built across the street, so there is a lot of money being poured into the area.
Evaga Lounge offers spacious interior dining that is perfect for families & large groups. They have ample table-seating and there's also a full-size bar & lots televisions to watch sports & entertainment.
When desired, they clear the tables from the center, revealing a giant dance-floor, turn on the disco-lighting, cue the DJ and they turn into a club that's perfect for celebrations & parties.
What I really appreciate is that although this tequila bar specializes in margaritas, their skilled mixologists can craft any tasty concoction for you from their full bar of spirits.
The owners, Mike & George, run a smooth ship. I can see them constantly making small improvements to operations.
Evaga Lounge are famous for their Chicharrones Tacos that were showcased at THE O’SIDE FLAVOR 2023. But they also have delicious caldos, burritos, aguachiles, nachos & fries plates, birria ramen, mariscos, ceviche and a full array of tacos, all with handmade tortillas.
Overall, I feel Evaga Lounge is a great addition to the Oceanside nightlife scene, with great drinks & really flavorful Mexican dishes and the perfect...

The pozole was a standout—rich, hearty, and seasoned to perfection. Each spoonful was a comforting embrace of traditional Mexican cuisine. The enchiladas, smothered in their exquisite mole sauce, were equally impressive, showcasing a balance of flavors that left us craving more.
