Black Rock Coffee Bar — Restaurant in Oceanside

My first time coming here was actually 6ish months ago. Today, I decided to order something different than the usual Blackout, so I got the Jackhammer instead— which is like a Blackout with an added shot. So now here I am typing this review.

I'm not much of a coffee aficionado, but I do drink enough coffee to have gold Starbucks card... Well I HAD a gold Starbucks card. Ever since coming here, I realize the taste of Starbucks is pretty offensive and and the body is weak at the same time. I lost the gold status I've had for 3 years because I couldn't keep up the quota. THANKS A LOT 😝. I used to order large (venti) cups because of Starbucks, but at Black Rock, I can only handle a small because it's really packing. I ordered a large here on my first time and ended up saving half of it in the fridge for the next day.

I recommend the Blackout or Jackhammer for any newcomers. They put just enough ice in their iced coffee, but you gotta wait a few minutes for it to totally chill. I'm kind of shakey after drinking the Jackhammer, so I don't know if I'll ever try their "Fuel", which is 6 shots. But I'm sure it tastes great and its aftertaste will last till the afterlife when that thing gives you a heart attack.

I'm glad they're opening a location in Vista and I'm confident that Better Buzz is about to get a run for their money.

Edit: Okay, so I got the "Fuel". That drink will light you up. But for something that strong, the flavor isn't very...

I’m bummed to have to jump on here today, but I’m hoping to shed some perspective. I’m a frequent customer of the Vista Black Rock and sometimes find myself at the Oceanside location. The last 3 to 5 times I’ve found myself at oceanside, my experience has been less than stellar. Overall, it just seems that the employees (4-5 on shift) frequently get distracted from work and get caught up in personal conversation. I totally understand light conversation, but when it takes away from the productivity of your job, I start to see a problem. With that, the friendliness amongst staff is not the same energy that is transferred to the customer. The short responses, lack of eye contact is noticeable when those exchanges are happening amongst each other. On top of that, I typically order one of three drinks, a fuel from their secret menu. The last handful of times I have received it, it has been unmixed. I completely understand instances where there is a line and the employees are working their hardest to get people taken care of in a timely manner but that was not the case today. There were three cars in front of me when I pulled up and it took arguably the same amount of time that it would have in a line of 6-8 cars. I hope moving forward there can be some type of positive...

So this place only half rocks I’m sure I’m talking for a few people out there so ima say they are late once a week so that means people are going to be late to work now not only that they are pissssst off driving now...an have to go to Starbucks okay i get it your late every now an again...but this is kinda ridiculous i just feel sorry for the people that cant go back an get it,cuz they have nothing to do...but i doubt it most people at 5am are going to work but hey maybe you will read this and just fix the problem...5/1/22 since the new manager started they been open on time an the drinks are on point, I have seen a positive change so two stars for that! 12/7/22 back to half rock in again..late,broken machine,can't figure out how to make my wife's drink and does anyone know what a mad wife who's coffee is f'd up trust me u don't..and then she's so loyal (stubborn)she won't just go somewhere else..so having said all that it must be good...
