Larry's Beach Club — Restaurant in Oceanside

This place is terrible and left horrible taste in my mouth. I visited this place because we know one of the lead singers for a band that plays there. I had a bouncer upon getting there harrass me and my group about coming in the wrong door. He wouldn't let it go either just kept going and going. The bouncer was very confrontational and appeared to want a show down. He of course carded us (no problem) and continued to challenge me and say we couldn't come in that door. I'm over 40 and so was everyone else in my group. If you dont want customers to use the door mark it as such or post a bouncer at that door to direct customers to the right door. Customers leave through that door. We entered here because people were leaving.

To the bouncer who was confrontational I would suggest you use common sense and be courteous. I was not drinking yet and you sir were as high as they come. I get your doing a job, but there is nothing wrong with being nice. We did have two ladies with us. You simply could have asked us to go around to the other door but wanted to make sure you looked tough in front of everyone while embarrassing me and my group. Thanks for setting the tone for our night.

I said "please and thank you" and the bartender thanked me! Look the place had a good vibe, however, whoever the two hosts were for karaoke that night were probably the worst I've ever seen do it. I couldn't believe they were that bad yet there were so many people there hanging out waiting to sing. First off the KJ was on their phone during most of the show. They had a regular set up with mixer and all ( I'm a 20+ year dj and host - visiting from out of town), I never saw them even touch the mixer. No efx not even volume adjustment - wha!?? As I saw people making requests towards the end of the night both hosts decided to do one last song each, even though others had been waiting and I'm not talking about myself, I didn't want to sing after watching that mess. We hung out because the bartender was cool dn the vibe was conducive to decent conversation. But I'm sorry those hosts were terrible for a place that apparently does...

Was very pleased to hear from my niece that Spenser the door guy seriously saved her from getting harassed by this strange man who might've had too much to drink and couldn't take the hint that she was married by the ring on her finger and 2 separate occasions she told him that she was not interested!! Thank you Spenser! You're our hero!! If I could give 10 stars I would in a heartbeat!! Spenser is what makes this bar run smoothly and professionally!!

Had to add to this that I really want to take away the 5 stars that I originally had left because they got rid of our favorite person there! No more Spenser no more 5 stars!! He was a huge part of why my friends and family actually went to that place! He made us feel safe and protected! We miss him so much and keep trying to find out where he works now!! I'm sad to say that Larry's beach club has gone down the rabbit hole without him. Bring him back and I'll give you back...
