Little Fox Cups & Cones is here in South Oceanside and it is everything we could have hoped for in a small icecream parlor.
Conveniently located on Vista Way & Freeman St in South O (in the Freeman Collective), this gem of a business can be accessed via public transportation bus 302, or with plenty of street parking that surrounds it.
The interior itself is small & quaint, yet warm & welcoming. They were playing “World Music” for ambiance and the vibes were chipper.
It is wheelchair accessible with a ramp and the inside has enough standing space for a few folks.
The outdoors has 3 benches with umbrellas for shading from the sun.
*note : there is no bathroom inside. Instead, use the restrooms at Artifex Brewery, which is next door.
Their menu contains about 15 artisan icecream flavors that have all been handcrafted with care and have each been carefully considered to cater to the flavor profiles of the many individuals who desire to experience a more gourmet or complex icecream flavor palette.
Many of their icecream flavors are seasonal and utilize various local ingredients that come from local farms or other local sources. This menu will be rotating & alternating.
On their opening menu, they even had marmalade using ingredients from our local Cyclops Farms.
You can flavors utilizing ingredients like: ❤️: sweet potato cream ❤️: cold-brew coffee cream ❤️: beets & candied pecans ❤️: vanilla rum cream and a slew of other exotic flavor combinations.
They also carry “icecream tacos” with waffle-cone flavors set to compliment the icecream accompanying them. Every flavor is well-thought out.
Service is fast, inviting and courteous.
Overall, Little Fox Cups & Cones is the icecream parlor that South O needed.
It has personality, character, it is unique and it is also small-owned & woman-owned.

Read moreBeen here multiple times at this point and I love it so much. Their variety of flavors is so delicious and it’s now my go to ice cream place. I had a friend visiting from out of town who has Celiac Disease. When I brought up the idea of going out for dessert she was hesitant as she’s been to other ice cream shops that have been unable to accommodate her allergy. I checked the Little Fox website and confirmed they have gluten free flavors. Since I already love the place and they advertised GF flavors my friend decided we should check it out and see if they can accommodate her allergy without any cross contamination. We were very happy when confirmed inside the store that they had gluten free flavors. When it was our turn to be assisted, my friend explained her gluten allergy and the individual helping us was able to go to the back to get her scoop from a fresh container and ensure that it was safe for her to eat. I already loved coming here but it makes me so happy to know I can also bring my friend whenever...
Read moreI've been here a couple of times. And I think it's alright. I'm not a huge fan of how rich or sweet the ice cream is. But, for the average sweet tooth Joe or Jane, it's a winner. I will say I absolutely love the decor choices, though, very modern and cute. I find the options for ice cream pretty awesome, especially the flavor selections and chocotaco's. Overall, it gets 4 stars in my book. Parking is madness, and it's in a residential area that makes it hard for quick stops, and it has a long line a lot of the time. I think they would do well adding a drive thru windows to the side of the building for pre-order and quicker pick ups. Just a thought, but the city determines the yes or no on that. Either way, this spot is worth a try, especially if you're having dinner at one of the neighboring restaurants. And the owner, she's a doll, love support women...
